To "paraphrase" what he said - cos i can't type that fast lol:

Reporter - 1st qtr – what happened.

Danny – Give credit to them and Graham – weren’t expecting 4 straight. Down on confidence – need to get reward for effort, ie finishing off kicking straight for goal. No excuse to finish off the first quarter and half like we did.

Reporter - Gasper benched.

Danny – Graham is in very good form. Gasper wasn’t the only one in bad form – left to few like Newman, Krak, Hardigan, Hall, Roach, Brown. New players pulling weight – bigger effort needed from rest.

Reporter - 3rd qtr effort?

Danny – lengthy chat at half time to get themselves going. We’re down on confidence, but not the end of the world. Got a game in 6 days time and time to recover. To turn the ball around on this ground was appalling – and ball use let us down.

Reporter - Do you take personally.

Danny – no, not at all. We have to stick together. Confidence is a factor which theyr’e going to work on in next couple of weeks.

Reporter - Gasper – has he hit a wall.

Danny – will be a lot better next week. When you d a knee as a key defender, don’t have the luxury of coming into a game gradually when you’re on a key defender each week.

Reporter - You asked last week to play bolder football – is confidence preventing that.

Danny – I thought we attempted to move ball quicker – overcooked it a bit – but a positive sign. Need to be more composed.

Reporter - How were players after game.

Danny – like me, very disappointed and let a lot of people down – members, families, supporters. Big crunch game on Friday and we expect as many Richmond supporters, hopefully, to turn up.

Reporter - What’s message to supporters.

Danny – rightly so, they vented their anger. Paid good money to see good football.

Reporter - Shane Morrison – on bench.

Danny – had to change the mix. Gotta remember Shane’s playing 8th game of footy.

Reporter - Marsh game?

Danny – going to be handy for us. Going to play well nextw eek against his old club. Thought he and brad combined well.

Reporter - How do you feel right now?

Danny – just resilient because we know we’re better than that. Going to focus on Adelaide and not individualise.

Reporter - 2 instances reflected confidence – Campbell in 3rd quarter and Marsh doing something or other (missed this)

Danny – need to get our hands dirty and concentrate on the big game.

I'm exhausted lol.

Great work Froars.
*applauds.

Why does he feel resilient .

He should feel devistated.

Spud sounded like he'd been kicked in the guts.
At one point he just drifted off with the fairies.

he shud resign and save himself the anguish
the players cant play long and direct he has coached that out of them, tivers plays well gets taken off

well i have calmed down a bit after that performance

Im starting to think we have alot of dumb footballers playing under the Richmond jumper.

I dont understand whats so hard about playing direct footy? is it because when the guy with the ball goes to cross it there is no runners or any player presenting themselves?

is it because the opposition know we are going to attempt the go down the corridor so they flood it which confuses our players?

i really do know why we struggle to get the ball in direct and straight to our forward line.

Towards the end of this interview, Spud noticed a bloke in the background he knew and said "g'day" during the middle of one of his responses. I saw it on Fox and he looked like he was embarassed about the fact that he doesn't really know much about this coaching caper.

Billy Brownless mentioned it on SEN this morning and remarked that he also found this action fairly strange.

He's completely lost it. He should do the honorable thing and admit this is all too hard and he doesnt have what it take to be a top line coach. Give it away spud and do yourself a favour.

The bloke he saw was in fact a woman called Melissa Fine (source PRE). How he was able to even get a smile on his face is amazing to me. I certainly couldn't find anything to smile about after the match.

Perhaps Melissa has a few special tricks to extract smiles form male firends.

I think danny is drifting off into a semi-psycotic state...this time next year when he is no longer coaching I see him walking along Brighton beach unshaven and muttering 'yeh we'll work it out on the track, we'll be cherry ripe, stick fat till the cows come home...."

Until this week he thought the players would play for him. Now he knows they wont.

Frawley's always prided himself on being mates with his players. He finally gets it that being respected by them is what wins footy games.

He looks and sounds like a man that doesnt have any answers, and has finally figured out that he's not up to the job.

If he wants to remain in the AFL in some capacity, he should announce that he wont be coaching Richmond in 2005, and he hopes to use the rest of the year to advance some of the younger players like Krak for the long term good of the club.
