He was alright for Coburg today. He just doesnt seem to have any real assets to him. He isnt super fit, he isnt THAT super skilled, can't take a big mark, isnt that smart around goals. Just a middle of the road player. Does the things that everyone else does but they bring other things to the table.
 
I never really felt a chubby over Meyer. Probably best to cut this one lose.
I actually don't see what the recruiters saw in him. I think they picked him purely on his pace and tried to make a footballer out of a sprinter.

He may not be many things but he is super skilled and smart around goals
 
Would anyone want to trade something for Meyer at the end of the season? You wouldn't think so would you? Maybe a fifth rounder LOL.
 
Look I was a massive fan of Danny when he got to the club because I like quick players with good skills and that go hard at it and that was what he showed in his first pre-season whether he has lost that hard at it approach I am not sure. One thing I know is he is bloody well skilled probably the most natural kick at the club along with Cotchin who has come along and shown everyone how to do it.

We have Cotchin, Deledio who are A+ grade kicks he is too then we have our A Grade kicks who like to take risks a bit being Bowden, McMahon and Newman

And we have Cleve who seems to be gun set shot and has the kick of a mule i'm pretty sure he can kick the thing 65.

Agreed if players like Tivendale or Hyde can get a chance I don't see why he can't. Hopefully he gets a bit fitter and dominates VFL so he can get a game.

When meyer was actually first picked up hes skills and footy smarts were meant to be up there with the best of the draft he was picked up in, hes skills were apparantly awesome, hes just another kid who had it to easy at under 18 level and once he was picked up hasnt worked hard enough to play at the top level which seems to happen far to much.

To be fair it was shocking weather for a game to be played, I think that about 3-4 Coburg players skills today were adequate enough, I think with Danny it is more his decision making, than skill.
 
Let's hear it. The poor kid has had a hip operation , has never been fullly fit etc etc.

He is simply another of greg miller's great decisions!

Guys, would you honestly want beanpole players like JON and Meyer running around. We need tough nuts who aren't gonna take sh1t from no one. I just can't see these two making it.
 
they should rookie these struggling hard basket players back to their home state for a few years and see how they develop instead of leaving them on the senior list for a half a decade.

Did you see the picks of some of the Bulldogs players in the Herald Sun recently?

Anyway here is an exert from an article on Foxsports about the dogs effort to beefup over the summer. Daniel Cross's before and after was extremely impressive. Don't see any reason why, with a clear run with injuries, guys like Danny can't put on the required muscle. From what i have seen of him, his skills are excellent, he has a knack for finding the goals and he is hard at it. Don't be so keen to write him off.
 
Said it before: Chance Bateman took 9 years to play 100 games. Meyer may well not be up to it, but there are plenty of examples in the AFL of blokes who took a fair while to get it together. Kel Moore is another.

Rightly or wrongly, the kid is in trouble. You just can't afford to have a guy who plays a handful of games at Coburg taking up space on your lift! Extremely unwise. He needs to force his way in quickly and show something it is bye bye!
 
True Goldust. Can see him being delisted and making us look silly but, as with Rodan, you can't hang onto them forever. 22 next month.
