You realise that by your theory, a "deep" list's starting 22 would have to be better than the reigning premiers 22. LOL! Having over 10 players that could get a game there is brilliant! And by the way, that is NO test for depth. More a test for the quality of your BEST players. Depth = being able to replace injured players with quality.

Well basically my life is on a computer lol, considering my job and uni is totally computer oriented. aka... I have to spend a lot of time on here, so I may aswell do something that I enjoy while doing it.

I love the club ,but i don,t let my affinity with it to cloud judgement,
Yes we may have talented youngsters,but they will take time to see if they will turn out to be proven performers,but don,t tell me we have a deep list.

We have a deep list of talented young players. Not in pure replacements for our first 22. So I somewhat agree with Big Bucks. The young players that have stepped up have have shown a lot, but I don't think there are many more of our youngsters that could do the same because they aren't ready yet. The way Willi have played recently show that.

I think he is up to it.
There aren't too many players at the magpies who are in and under like him, and who don't mind the hard stuff, which is what the Pies need.
He has seems to have great awareness around the packs, not to mention a great left foot.
I think he will have a future at Collingwood.

Conveniently left off the end of my sentence, there aren't many more left that are READY to make a significant impact. Not there aren't many more talented players that will be part of successful Collingwood teams in the future.

I don't know what you mean by "left off the end of my sentence" because I quoted your whole post but if you mean I ignored it, I'll answer it now. Leaving out Cook who's got his gig, any of Reid, Toovey, Stanley, Cox, Iles, Dick and Brown could hold their own in the seniors right now. You might argue the "significant" bit. If that means "star" maybe you're right but then again a few of the older names haven't been managing that recently either.

I was mostly referring to the players that had not yet played. However Toovey was a liability when he played for us as far as I'm concerned. Poor awareness continually rushed into kicking or even caught because he was too slow to move it on, and had a lot of problems finding targets. Average player for me, even if there is no questioning his effort. Dick, Brown and Reid wouldn't make significant impacts IMO, they need another season. Would have liked to see more of Reid though I think he would have been handy as another option. Stanley maybe, but he hasn't exactly set the world on fire for Willi. Cox I agree with, he should be in the team this week. Iles I don't really rate. Fumbler, not clean off the deck at all. Just an average player.

The reason we have done so well is because young players like Goldsack, Clarke, Cloke, Shaw, O'Brien, Thomas and Pendlebury have all been able to make SIGNIFICANT contributions. Meaning replacing them with players who would make less than significant contributions wouldn't result in us playing at the same level. While some of our older players haven't always been great they have had games where they have been dominant and really contributed to our wins.

I'm not basing my opinion at all on how Willi have gone in terms of win/loss. All I'm saying is there are only maybe two or three players down at Willi that could come in directly for one of the 22 with confidence that the level wouldn't drop.

I don't know where he's at at the moment. However, I thought he was capable of breaking through the side at the start of the year because he impressed me during the latter part of 2006. As we know, he was very average in his debut, but since then he's worked hard on his game at Williamstown.

Promote/Delist? Promote. Give him another year.

too slow for his size i think, he will be in trouble to stay on, given that they haven't picked him again this season.
