Anyone know much about the new Northern Knights coach, was he an assistant at the Cannons last year?

Interesting.

I guess he gets his turn cos he seemed to be next in the queue to coach a TAC club. Obviously thought of by Football Vic as a good quality coach given he coached Vic in the match against Allies. I assume the Knights location fits in nicely for him with his teaching job.

I'm sure others will know more about him.

i would say he is one of the most respected coach from a player point of view, with myself being one of those lucky enough to be coached and guided by him at a school and higher level i think that the knihgts will be pretty happy with thier latest recruit and should be expected to preform well under his guidence...

Coached the Victorian representative side against the all-stars at OO last year.

Former Port Melbourne forward, who was helping out as an asst coach at Calder Cannons last season I believe.

This is great news for the Knights.

Dan will be a fantastic coach and given their sensational late 2005 season form he should be able to mould them into a strong outfit for 2006.

Given the history of recently departed assistant coaches from the Cannons, all of whom were expertly tutored by Robert Hyde, the Knights will beat the Cannons the first time they meet in 2006.

Leigh Tudor did it in his first game as coach for the Jets against the Cannons in 2004 and Woosher did it in his first game as coach for the Chargers against the Cannons in 2005.

Good luck Secko.

Was an early firstround draft pick taken by North in 90 or 91, originally from Lemnos (Shepp Swans), Never played a game at North and was drafted by Fitzroy in a March draft. Failed to play a game there and went to Port mid season the same year. When on the park was one of the best 1 on 1 players id seen in the VFL, he played some good footy when his body settled down. Shame we didn't see him at AFL level though.

From memory i think while listed at the roos he may have even played for the old Knights himself as players were allowed to back then and there were no Murray Bushrangers around.

Should have a very bright future as a coach. Coached me for three years and clearly the best coach i've had by a long way. Great communicator/teacher, great motivator and great bloke.
