I keep hearing about Caddy but is it just me or am i the only one thinking that we need some serious speed and someone with great kicking skills coming from the backline

This bloke would be perfect and will not cost the farm imagine Shaw and Pearce coming out of the backline

What do people think?

Would love him here but we'd have to trade would we not? Port no doubt would try to bend us over like usual so can't see it happening unless he is out of contract.

He has the right skill set with the proviso that his heart may be 3 sizes too small. For what he has produced he isn't worth much of a trade price or salary. Potential doesn't win flags. If we could get him to follow Luke Ball around and emulate him then I'd be all for it but I have significant doubts.

The spot we have struggled to replace is a running HB Jonno is getting older and Shaw plays more wing

That and a 2nd ruck/forward should be our priority not another midfielder

If we can get him cheap trade and salary wise it'd be worth a shot. He could strive in a successful outfit, has some good skills but needs more support.

Great kicking skills? Pearce is an awful kick/decision maker. Not interested IMO

Could not agree more.

What is this great urban myth about his kicking skills?. Sure, his kicking style may be pretty but kicking is only good if its directed at the right spot (eg BJ)
Style means nothing if the decision skills aren't there.

Besides if we wanted a small running left footed defender to replace BJ we already have Marty Clarke and Yagmoor on the books

Clarke is slow and Yagmoor doesn't look like he'll ever get there.

His best and worst are way too far apart. His kicking skills can be very very good, but they can also be unpredictably bad for alot of the time. But for me it isn't his kicking skills that is the thing that stands our that says no, im sure Bucks can teach a guy to kick.... The thing that turns me against him is his decision making, it is majority of the time absolutely terrible. That is something you cannot really train in someone, they either make good decisions or they don't. Pearce unfortunately does not have a good decision making ability.

Agree his Descion Making is Terrible and he misses Targets nearly all the Time

Too many people get taken in by a sleek kicking action and look no further, a prime example of the counter point is our own BJ. His kicks look like he's been smoking some seriously good shit the way they come of the boot but he's bloody effective and a decent decision maker.

I think speed sometimes seduces good judges. If he wasn't quick would you rate him? speed is a very handy asset but they still have to be good players. Personally i agree with others that he's soft and living off his pace and his pace only.

We need a 2nd ruck and another luke ball type far more than we need Pearce. Yagmoor could develop into the halfback you speak of. As people have said Pearce is an awful decision maker.

We've really missed luke at times this year. Especially against the hawks. Surprised people haven't mentioned him much
