You do realise we already have Neagle, Bradley, Gumbleton, and Johns on our list as developing forwards?

Also, I'm pretty sure Darcy is a backman who has played forward a little bit.

Darcy is the son of Anthony.

From what I've seen of him, he seems more of a defender. At this stage, he's played mainly CHB but has been thrown forward at various times.

I see Darcy as more of a Full Back prodigy. It's not uncommon for guys to play at CHB/CHF instead FB/FF in the juniors and then move into the deeper roles and I can see that happening with Darcy.

Looks like he'll be with us next season and it'll be good to see another Father/Son going around.

I think we should develop him into a full back while we still have fletch around. But whatever we do if keps gets the arse i hope they dont give him #16 as i think whoever ends up wearibg that number turns out to be a dud

I don't think you will see both Danihers there next year.

You would think it would be to much of an unfair advantage to Darcy he would cop alot of it if his uncle was to be appointed head coach.

That is horrible reasoning. I f the club sees Neale as the best coach available, they will get him. They arent going to pass up Darcy just because his uncle is coach.

i was just thinking that, wouldnt it be a conflict of interest? i wouldnt mind having both of them at our club, where would darcy come in the draft anyway? his not a first rounder is he

Yep they are, but Darcy gets to choose which club gets to use a FS selection on him. If the Swans want him, they're gonna have to bid for him

That's up to Darcy.

He gets to choose the club he wishes to go to under the F/S rule, if any.

If he chooses Essendon and given he's training with us, it looks that is the way he'll go, then Sydney have no rights to him under the F/S rule. They can bid for him like the 15 other clubs.

Essendon will have to match the highest bid with their next pick.

having gone to primary school with darcy n long time friends, i can tell u he definatly is neale danihers nephew and i dont see that as being an issue to whether or not we will pick him up. he is a quality DEFENDER and would be a massive inclusion in our team as i feel it is very necessary to get rid of the ever UN-reliable bradely.
