Darren Cahill has joined the Port Adelaide Football Club Board of Directors effective immediately.

Cahill joins the club following an illustrious career in professional tennis where he won 15 career titles as a player and coached Andre Agassi, Lleyton Hewitt and most recently Simona Halep all to be World number one players respectively.

Welcome Darren.

Is he replacing someone, or is the board being expanded? There is also an election coming up at the AGM, so hopefully an opportunity to refresh.

Seems like a reasonable get. Not sure about his business/corporate acumen, but his high profile could be helpful.

This seems like a great appointment for the on field side of things. He brings some real acumen in an elite sporting environment.

As far as off field stuff goes time will tell, not all board members have to have both anyway.

Darren Cahill should be a good addition to the board, hopefully he is replacing one of the 3 accountants, because three of them is two too many.

Great to have the Cahill name back at Port in an official capacity. He has extensive international sports exposure through his coaching and media work. He is a true Port person and I'm hoping his international experience and business acumen will translate well to the Port Board of Directors.
