Saints Fans...it is quite apparent you guys need a ruckman...what would be an appropriate trade with players (not draft picks)

Darren Jolly for ????

I am just throwing up names and i don't know whether they are suited to the trade so please help me out...

Montagna
Milne
...

Thanks :)

I really dont know mate.. Our problem is that all of our players are young and therefor problably not in the trade bait basket as yet. I would imagine that we would look to trade one of our first 2 picks in the draft for a ruckman or maybe package a pick with a fringe player.. I just don't know if Melbourne would accept that?
What sort of player would Melbourne be after??

we ideally need a tall backman, and we could do with another tall forward (so we can get rid of Ben Holland), and maybe a running midfielder/crumbing forward.

Red = Untouchable Blue = ???? (you tell me what you think of them)

Tall Backman at St.Kilda that i would want
Maguire
Penny

Hudghton

Tall Forwards at St.Kilda that i would want
Basically all untouchable (Hamill, Gehrig and Riewoldt)

Running Midfielders that I would want
Ball (Depends on him wanting to leave or not, which i cant see him doing)
Dal Santo

Black
Hayes
Harvey

Crumbing Forwards that I would want
Milne

Don't know about Hudghton, he's almost a club legend. But Black or Milne could quite possibly be up for trade.
how bout montagna ... would definitely have him at melbourne

I believe that the Crows have also sounded out D. Jolly.

This will only push up his price to other clubs.

I'd rather take Jamar than Jolly though.

Jolly is available as her requested a trade.

Jamar won't be going anywhere.

Just out of interest, what would Adelaide give for Jolly?

Personally, I wouldn't mind Guerra or Montagna at Melbourne, would Saints give one of them for Jolly?

i would love to have Jolly at the Saints, but i really don't see what we could give up for him. The players who are most likely available for trade i guess don't have much value.. would the Dees take a draft pick??

ummm no way Powell for Jolly. i dont even think Jolly has even showed how well he can play. i would like Jamar over jolly anyday but he isnt avaliable, powell is a really big part of our team, he is one of the senior midfielders but i think Guerra would be a good trade, Montagna i believe will have a spot in our team next year because Stephen Milne will have gone elsewhere

So jolly for Guerra my choice

We'd take that.

Good deal for both clubs IMO.

Melbourne will be lacking a forward especially after the possible trading of Russell Robertson.

Would much prefer Guerra to the other garbage (Zantuck, Baird and Watt) thats been mentioned anyday.

you have Barry Brooks. This bloke could be the best player ever to come out of tasmania. He just needs to gain some confidence, this will come if you give him opportunities. Give him a run

yes well Brooksy's injuries dont help him. next year we really need to punch some games into him, but i think while we are doing that we need a more established ruckman around the club for a couple of years

i think that we should try to pick up michael gardiner or dean cox from west coast. Honestly think about it. Gardiner is 25 has injuries but i doubt that will affect him. Cox is 23 a very good ruck prospect and can kick goals. Seaby a 20 year old ruckman/foward a very handy player got west coast best young player award, and beeck a young kid with a good future. west coast will probably have to offload one of them.
Gardiner ?
Cox?
Seaby NO
Beeck NO

I actually forgot about Barry Brooks, he could actually be a good player. i wouldnt mind having a Gardiner or a Cox around, they could be the major ruckman with Barry Brooks as back up.

yeah that exactly right. do you see where im coming from benrey demons. gardiner or cox have to go. west coast wont be able to afford both of them, and they are both established now that they both want to play in a side where they are the number 1 ruckman.

Eagles are a very tall team that have to many talls in my opinion and they can lose even a seaby or a beeck
But Barry Brooks was tod the riot act by Grant thomas so if he isnt traded this year expect some bigger things from him next year

eagles wont get rid of...
seaby, his 21 and is a ruckman/tall foward
beeck, his 19 and is a promising footballer. Will be very good.
It's out of gardiner or cox.
gardiner, is their vice captain so i dont think he will go.
cox, i would love to get cox. Great player. Will be execllent. No injuries, 23 and can push foward and kick goals. But gardiner would be great aswell.
Any opionions from anyone.
