INTRODUCTION

In an incredible twist, Andrew Demetriou and the AFL board has revamped the project to create an 18th team in the league. Realising that the original set location, Greater Western Sydney, was not a great place to start, the AFL has decided to set their focus on Darwin.

The new team will be known as the Darwin Sharks.
Bet the Tasmanians are still pissed off.

Anyway, here we are. After hours and hours of game time on AFL Live, I felt this game needed a twist. I started to blood players in my season with Melbourne - putting Lucas Cook, Jeremy Howe and Tom McDonald in key positions. I felt as if I was enjoying it more, as it was clearly a challenge getting young, inexperienced players to set the standard in their respective areas as key members.

This is where the idea for Darwin came along.

The team is consisted almost entirely of these inexperienced players, of which Cook and Howe are included, and naturally, it fell a few million dollars short of the salary cap.

Once I'd created the team, I then decided to play a match. Playing on Professional (and not being the most talented AFL Live gamer there is, mind you) I found it difficult, to say the least. Ten goal thumpings in five minute quarters turned to nail-biting victories, and losses.

But I had to say, I enjoyed it.

So here we are. This is the official 2012 season of the Darwin Sharks.

I'll be posting every game as it's played, as a live commentary. The quarter length means they'll be around 20 minutes long each.

Nice work mate. May I ask what you use to record your games?

Cheers. I'm using the Hauppauge HD PVR. Great little thing.

I find it amazing that you managed to fit 44 players under the salary cap!

I pinched all the cheap players who played well this year
