This will be an interesting issue next year with the interchange cap. Fitness will start to become more important than ever and clubs will be pushing for every inch. Considering our injury issues this year, I hope we look at getting someone that is highly experienced dealing with AFL players, not just a young up and coming sports scientist.

You hit the nail on the head. It'll also be interesting to see how this affects drafting as I would think preference will be given to those with good endurance and recovery capabilities (eg Sidebottom). It might see a greater dependence on mobile forwards who can ruck like White and Lynch.

Their fitness guy came over from the EPL iirc, he absolutely crushed it this season. As soon as he's out of contract we should kidnap him or something.

Instead of waiting, why don't we just ask him if he knows someone with similar experience who is available? I don't think its necessarily an EPL thing - he must have other relevant skills experience which we could tap into.
I've read the Carlton guy, the St. Kilda guy and the Mancheter United guy.

Why so much love for EPL? Aren't the Socceroos supposed to be far more professional - fitness wise - than their o/s counterparts. I would've thought Australian sports science would be equal to anywhere.
I say again...the bleed of quality personnel from our club concerns me. I just hope they know what they're doing and Bucks' is not a controlling psychopath, surrounding himself with yes-men acolytes.

The Port guy Darren Burgess is an Aussie who worked with Port, then the Socceroos, then went over to Liverpool for 2 years before coming back to Port. So 'EPL' guy might be overstating things, and yes it suggests that Aussie sports science is sort after overseas.
