We are considering sponsorship of a young Carlton rooke - David Ellard
DOB 13/3/89 from Swan Districts.
Anybody seen him play for Swans and know what he is like on anf off the field?
have you guys in Melb run into him, and if so how has he settled in sunny Melbourne? What has he been like on the track?
All input welcome!

Saw him mentioned here recently as "Ellis".
Anyways thanks thylacine60
Can I announce the WABlues as the official sponsor of David Ellard.
Hopefully the young fella does make a name for himself and you all say " I remember hearing about him for the first time"
We had other options but he was the only WA boy on the books available and we thought it best to support a local lad.
To all the WA fans who have contributed to raffles etc at functions..
it is by your genorous efforts that we are able to sponsor a Carlton player.
Not as big as Krez but we have to start somewhere.

Ellard mainly played Colts all year, so only got to see him in the 3 chapms games. I wrote up something brief somewhere else...might have been on his buddy page, can't recall, can't be bothered recanting it, so you may have to do sme work and search for it ;)

I read it thanks Gilly. Just thought there may have been an update since draft day.Sorry he has not excited you as much as others.

He's fine, sounds like a decent kid, reads the play beautifully and is a smart, natural footballer.....however, you have to be realistic...there is a reason he fell to #34 in the rookie draft, and to sum it up briefly, for 176cm he does not have any particularly outstanding tricks for AFL level. Like any Carlton player, I hope he works really hard onthe track, impresses in the Bullants and makes a crack of it on our senior list. I suspect he was chosen for his attitude and work rate as well as a very consistent of performance for his Colts side.:thumbsu:
