On White Line Fever last night a couple of Kangaroo supporters rang up and asked King if the rumours were true about him coming to Richmond to play, which he said was not, and then Clinton Grybas asked him that after King and Wallace called Friday Nights match on 3AW TW was so impressed by King he may offer him an assistant coaching job.........what do you think? King said he would be interested in the job but has not yet been asked by TW.

No thanks, Anthony Stevens on the other hand could be a good pickup, much the same as Cresswell for Geelong last year.

On 3AW on Saturday night, I heard the following exchange between King and Dwayne Russell (with Wallace alongside):

Russell: So what does the future hold for you now that you've retired? Are you looking to go into coaching?
King: Well I'm sharing the taxi ride home tonight with Terry, so we will see what comes of that!



(Not the exact words but the meaning is the same)


Personally, I would be happy to get King. He has played in premierships under Pagan and knows what it takes. He is also such an 'out there' personality that would be capable of shaking the 'loser' mentality out of our players.

To 'defrawley' them as it were.
 
We need someone from that era who is capable of spreading that culture through the club. It seems its not enough to simply be there or even be a key player.

Ive seen him really have a go at his teammates as a player but I think we need some hardarsed blokes at the club. Time to get blokes who feel sick when we lose instead of the 'plenty of positives' line that we were getting each week.

We don't need eccentric d*ckheads at Tigerland, stay away David.....
 
Stevens would be better, we need a real midfielder in there, not more of a receiver type like King.
 
I like the idea of appointing an assistant who is just out of the game. I'd definetly take King of Stevens, listening to them speak King sounds like a much better communicator, has some arrogance and doesn't take any crap would be a good appointment.
Sure King ********ted me off a few times when he was playing but I wouldn't be dissapointed if he was named as an assistant.

what about Wayne Schwass as an assistant coach he seems to be a bloke who knows his footy and whats required to be successful. TW would have worked with im on Fox Footy so i wonder if TW has thought about him?

I realise most were talking about an assistant role but several posts clearly related to playing. Read the original post.

Seriously, the way the tigers go through coaches Royal would be rubbing his hands together wouldnt he? Thats no disrespect to Wallace either.

Royal is just getting in early ;)
