David Madut
DOB: 1-10-93
Height: 196-198 (approx)
Club: Subiaco

A late starter to football like so many in Australia of South Sudanese heritage, Madut impressed in his first season of WAFL colts football in 2012, demonstrating magnificent athleticism, genuine speed, a fine leap and a clear competitive hunger for the game. His excellent form earned him a late place in the West Australian 18's squad but a subsequent knee injury ruled him out of all the matches. In his favour, the injury was a result of a collision rather than a simple lateral movement in an uncontested situation. Now fully fit and training strongly with the Subiaco league squad, it will be interesting to see if he can stay injury free and compete toe-to-toe with the league's best ruckmen such as Mark Seaby, Paul Johnson and Chris Keunen. One thing is for certain, very few youngsters will work harder to make an impact. When Madut isn't playing, he's training or pushing weights. When he's not training, he's coaching juniors in the Subiaco district and when he's not doing that, one can often find him kicking a ball around at Leederville or elsewhere.

An impressive young lad, although he is rawer than the backside of a moving steer. He reminds me of Majak Daw in how he plays: so much potential, but still learning how to apply any of it.

i concur, extremely raw but his learning is exponentially improving with each month that passes

watching him move is impressive, the leep, the effortless running

Sounds like a Very Intresting Prospect. With Daw and Nic Nat exciting the League he has a Good Chance of Being Late 1st to 2nd Round Pick.

Any Video of Him?

Should be something around. He played for Subiaco seniors on the TV game a couple of weeks back. Many thanks to the ABC for showing the games: I record them each week as I am comatose at 2:30 in the morning.

I tried looking for the game Subiaco v Perth on ABCiview but they don't seem to archive matches. Or I just can't find where they archive the matches.

Mega handy hey. IView on the Ipad is the best thing ever.

Dave I would think 4th rounder at best and more likely a rookie.

I have seen him only a couple of times and I thought he was pretty average to be honest.
However other would have seen more of him and I may have just been unlucky and see him on a couple of down days.

Pretty sure that the Subiaco V Swans game will be cover on ABC TV this afternoon.

Subiaco v Swan Districts was the Saturday game this past weekend.

Should be on iView as we speak.

Madut had 6 disposals, 2 marks, 4 tackles and 39 hitouts for the lions.

The thing we have to remember about David, is that he's only 19 years old and has only been playing the sport for two years. Comparing him to blokes that have been in the system for a while like Daw and Naitanui isn't really fair.

UpForGrabs, he was serviceable against Swans but nowhere near his best. He has an extra gear and when you see it you'll know what I mean by that.
