A great honor for a fantastic man. My admiration for Robinson is unable to even be decribed using words.

SAN ANTONIO - NBA commissioner David Stern was at the Spurs-Lakers game to announce the David Robinson Plaque, to be presented to winners of the league's community spirit award.
Robinson was recognized for his $9 million donation to create a private school for underprivileged children in San Antonio.
"David, I'm here to say 'thank you,' said Stern. "Thank you especially for your contributions to the community and your social responsibility."
Stern also announced that the award would be re-named in David's honor.
"You have set a standard for a professional athletes to aspire to," Stern said. "So it gives me great honor to tell you that henceforth when an NBA player is honored for community service, he will be given the David Robinson award for community service. So that generations may know the contribution that you have made."
Robinson, as always, appeard humbled by the award.
"This is an amazing honor," said Robinson. "If I could have planned to leave a legacy, this would be the legacy he would want to leave."
The worldwide television audience got to witness the pre-game ceremony as part of the NBA on ABC's coverage of the game.
