Yeah ok so it's an old one.

Has anyone played it?

Fantastic game, for those who haven't got it, or played it yet. I suggest you grab a copy and for $30 or there abouts you can't go wrong.

Undoubtably has awesome replay ability as mowing down thousands and thousands (literally) zombies with a lawnmower or carving them up with a chainsaw never gets old.

Gotta love the achievement 'Zombie Genocider' (gotta kill 53,000+ zombies.) :thumbsu:

I've been thinking of picking it up on the cheap.

Is it worth a spin?

yeah ive got it

the saving system is ____ed up

the games itself is heaps of fun, walking around a shopping mall slicing, hammering, shooting, stabbing heaps of zombies

i've found that its one of those games that you play for a bit and then dont touch for weeks on end

Love it! Pretty bloody hard to get the best ending in the story, in fact I haven't got any endings. Haven't played it for a while either. You can always go back to it though, still have to do the zombie genocide achievement, is it best to go to the underground car park and do laps running them over or what?

Also, never had a problem with the same system, it's not that dissimilar to GTA for example?

Yeah but GTA never makes you go from one end of the map to the other through a few thousand zombies with one block of health, armed with only a pointy stick.

I got into the last day a few months ago from memory and haven't played it since. The fun factor is pretty good though because you can basically use anything as a weapon although i hated how you had to stand still when using guns so your basically wide open to getting attacked.

So it's just because it's a bit harder? With some planning you would be carrying some food to heal yourself, or go past a shop on your travels.

Not sure on the saving setup in GTA IV at the moment. But Dead Rising isn't as bad as what people make it out to be. When i was trying to get the Saint achievement (Get 50 survivors out of the mall) You could save the game by going into the toilet and the likes half way through carting multiple survivors with you, so if anyone died you could reload half way through.

That's actually the only tedious part of the game to be honest now that i think about it. The AI of survivors. They are stupid. lol.

Not true really. When you get onto your 2nd and 3rd play through it becomes heaps easier because your character level carries over. By half way through the 2nd play through you would probably more than likely be at level 50. It just depends on how many zombies you kill and how many survivors you rescue. When you are level 50, like Lunchlady says, you can carry multiple items of food and weapons with you.

True on the 2nd point though. But i never used the gun once i got the small chainsaw and the 2 books (which make the chainsaw last 2700% longer) which (i think) kills around 400/500 zombies before needing replaced. Also the Katana was a favourite of mine as well.

I've been told that with the right books and both small chainsaws, you can pretty much complete the game without changing weapons.

Have you done the genocide one?

Yes! I forgot to reply to your post, but yeah you have to go underground.

What i did was;

- Grabbed the red car thats parked outside and cleaned up the zombies in that parking area.

- Went down the ramp underground, hooked a left then when i got to the end cleaned up the big cluster of zombies in the area where the 2 trucks are.

- Hopped in the truck, headed back down and continued straight past the entrance.

- Followed it to the end, hooked a left then you come to a bit where theres a circle part of the tunnels with a pillar in the middle, turned right there.

- Got to the end where another truck is parked, do a u-turn and head back and exit at the entrance and cleaned up the zombies in the parking lot, your truck might die at this point.

- Got back into red car and started over.

You should get 900+ kills in one run. 2-3 hours should get the job done. Can spend the rest of the time getting other achievements like the clothes horse etc...
