what does everyone think.
start with dean cox or trade him in during the year.
or spend your money else where all together

Umm, it's up to you, what your plan of attack is really...
If you have money in the bank when you've got your team together, sure, go and get him but imo he'll bit a bit overpriced at the start of the season...He is a top DT'er, so he's definitely worth considering...

yeah of course i would love to start with him, but the nearlly 400 g hurts. i was thinken maybe start with someone else that is cheap and once a couple of my cash cows come thru hopefully pounce if he drops 50 grand.
like it would be good to get a serviceable ruck for a while for like 200 and divide the other 200 into upgrading some of my other starters. hrmmm

I reckon when Simmo goes up in price and cox goes down you have a trade right there. So i probably won't start with cox!

It all comes down to your personal plan of attack. By not having him in at the start you run the risk of falling behind, but you might not. It all depends on what you do with the money you save on him.

i can't see how Cox is worth 90,000 more than McIntosh. Definitely i will be looking to get Cox at some stage but his starting price doesn't represent value. His price will probably come under 400,000 and that is when i plan to get him.

Forget the cash!!

Cash only comes into if you plan on getting rid of the guy(ie first year players, players returning from injury)

And when to buy him?. Are you trying to win overall? If so, get him from day one, he is the best ruck in the comp and gives you the best chance. If you are just trying to win your league, then it might pay for you to wait and pick him up later.

If you buy him, chances are you will not be getting rid of him at any time(bar injury), so I don't think his price matters. It is all about the points return. Focus on the points. (I know, easier said than done considering the price) If you are confident he can get you 100 points per week, then get him, and forget about him losing money, there are no prizes for the biggest increase in team value.

Will I get him, not at the beginning. I can see a bit more value in the ruck department this year, so will be using cash elsewhere, upgrading later, a gamble, I know.

prob cos mcintosh will average around 80 and cox will average over 100. so tell me is 90 grand worth 400 odd extra points (22 times about 20 points?)
