Yep that was my situation as well to make it even worse Proud was on the ground. Will have to make a change there unless 2 out of the three get a game next week as Hartlet is my other backline cheapie. They feel like wasted trades swapping rookies around but they have to be done.

i am in a sticky situation andrew raines is injured and i dont even no if scotty thompson will get a game bloody laidley

Am surprised laidley is not blooding more young guns like Scott D Thompson , Hansen and Grima

Playing against the Tigers was the perfect opportunity to give the young guns a run . Those senior players who came back in at their expense will have a much harder time looking good against a higher quality opposition this week .

Why was Thompson dropped for Round 2 anyway??? Scored me 75 points in round 1.

Anyone shed light on how he actually played?

He had 4 goals kicked on him by Lovett-Murray. While I still think he had a good game, considering how the side went, our back 6 is very tight this year with Harding returning. Also with Jesse Smith looming as a late inclusion this week or playing next week I think it will be a while before we see Scotty DT back in the side.

yeh, laidley is pretty clueless when it comes to picking players

As for Hansen, he injured his foot before the game. Not many people believed that but he's not even named in the squad this week so Im taking it as truth.

I think he was very unlucky. North capitulated late in that game in what looked like a hangover from last years finals series (no offense intended). They just lost all confidence. The blame for Essendon's goals could just as easily be thrown at all North players I thought - given how much free reign they allowed Essendon.

I personally thought that Thompson looked composed and generally played well, but the facts show that his man kicked 4. I really felt for him as I saw a lot of him last season (he came from Geelong VFL) and he was a class above his opposition.

I don't know enough detail about Laidley or the overall North defence, but I hope that Thompson gets another run soon.

so im gonna trade one of hansen + scott DT for nj brown.
thoughts?
thinking hansen but really only becuase thompson has played a game already

I still have both Hansen and thompson, hanging onto the hope Ladley will repay me!!
I was on till 5mins before lockout rd3 comtemplating a trade to NJ Brown, and decided i didn't want to get abord that ship.
I'll have the same decision this week with Taylor if ladley doesn't pick one or both of them.

He wont. You should have got Leigh Brown or Sam Power.
