Bolton, even with a groin injury, is a better player than Dean Solomon. Would take Aaron Henneman over him as well.

MUST GO!!!!!!

Solomon has always been overrated. Most "tough" players are. I know windyhill loves him.

I think we should have traded him, because he's the type of player that has a reputation of being good but those that watch him week in week out will know that he is just a player. Average skill, and not a ball winner. Hell crash a pack and everyone will go, "Ohh Solly, good on ya tough guy, what a champ." he's nothing special, just a player. We should have traded him, because he was at the age where we could still get something for him.

Not any more. We won't get anything for him now - he's too old now.

I'd drop Andrew Welsh before i dropped Solly. When was the last time he really influenced a result ? Been treading water since his really promising 2003 and hasn't stepped up when we've really needed him.

I thought both Woosha and Solly were good today.
Didak killed Woosh in the last quarter, but Didak has the ability to do that and I'm not sure why Slattery was taken off him anyway.

Solly's opponent had no impact on the match (nor did Swan whilst Welsh was on him). He did his job.

Solomon has been poor for a while now and im still wondering if he'll get back to his best.

I agree, I don't think he has ever recovered from doing his knee at our sacred home (victoria park). I wouldn't want him at Collingwood, and he wouldn't get a game at Collingwood.

Solomon played well in keeping his man out of the play, however I think he had a few skill errors when he was in the play himself.

Some of his handballs were very bad as with some of his decision... He also looked quite slow. I'm hopeful it is just match fitness and that those things will improve. A lot of people bag the guy, but there aren't many defenders in the Essendon side and I doubt there is anyone that could do a better job then Solomon that is playing for Bendigo at the moment...

Until someone can do his job better then him, there is no point dropping the guy. That said, he does need to pick up his disposals, I figure that as his match fitness improves then so will his disposal - as with JJ. Both had no preseason so it is harsh to judge them too quickly.
