Last week Kevin Sheedy quoted that he probably has played Solomon in the wrong position for his whole career after setting up countless goals against Port while kicking 2 himself in a brilliant debut for his new club.

Do you think Kevin Sheedy made a mistake in trading Soloman to Freo?

Yes, he needed to find his game somewhere else and Freo is just the place
No, had Sheedy played him forward in his career he would have produced games like that on the weekend

we got bachar houli in return who will turn into a great player for our club.

solly had his good games at essendon. his problem is that his best and worst are miles apart.

i am very happy that we ended up with houli

Yes he is a exciting young gun is Houli! Overall I good result for both clubs you'd think?

While Solomon was a great servant of the Essendon footy club, Essendon did have to address the "pace" of its list in the short term, and make way for a great draft that will pay dividends in the future.

Whichever way you look at it, 2006 was a very poor year, and it was clear that the list had to change. Unfortunately it was Solomon who got the short straw; he wasn't the only senior player to have a mediocre year last year.

IMHO, if all are fit and well, the 2007 Bombers list looks better then the 2006 list.

I wasn't that happy that we traded solomon but i was ecstatic to get Houli from what i had seen pre-draft. I think this will end up being one of those trades where both sides come out well from it.

I'd say yes he probably was played out of position in terms of being played on gorilla forwards that were simply too big for him, whereas he should have been played on either mid sized forwards or else in the forward line perhaps.

No Houli is a great selection, and the forgotton man of our draft also looks the goods in Kyle Reimers :)
