Dear Mr CEO

Ok, so I personally don't blame Triggy for where we are right now, but I felt these lyrics to this well known P!nk song might give voice for many Crows fans out there at the moment. Unfortunately for Steven he is the CEO! :o

Anyways, here it is:

Dear Mr CEO
Come take a walk with me
Let’s pretend we’re just two people and
You’re not better than me.
I’d like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly.

What do you feel when the boys play like tonight?
Who do you blame when nothing seems to be going right?
What do you feel when you look in the mirror?
Are you proud?

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream of premierships and of Crows flying high?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye
And tell me why?

Dear Mr CEO
It’s not all going to plan.
You claimed we were the best
You claimed he was the man.
How can you say
It’s all going to be all right?
When what we’ve seen all year
Looks exactly like tonight?

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream of premierships and of Crows flying high?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye
And tell me why?

Let me tell you ‘bout hard work
And fighting for the ball
Let me tell you ‘bout hard work
All for one and one for all
Let me tell you ‘bout hard work
Never giving up without a fight
We know nothing ‘bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream of premierships and of Crows flying high?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye
And tell me why?

So, Mr CEO?

BTW, what was that huddle after the game about?

What was Mr Captain saying?

Could he have been telling the team he was through?

:o:(

Mr C/E/O rather than Pres/I/Dent

and just coz the words fit really well! ;):p

I suspect Goodie would have said that effort was pathetic and we should be ashamed!

/Epic fail.

He’s dammed if he does and he’s dammed if he doesn’t.

If he comes out on Monday morning and announces that the board of the AFC have fired Neil Craig, he will be seen as someone who jumping at shadows and reacting to a poor start to the season. If he doesn’t, he’s being seen as doing nothing. He cannot win either way.

His job is to analysis the club on an annual basis and evaluate everyone’s performance from the performed previous 12 months and then make a decision, Neil Craig’s job is to make the decision on a one a day to day basis.

We are in this position for one reason; Neil Craig has been to ****ing loyal. Neil Craig didn’t deserve to be fired last September but he should have made some major culls to the playing list. Steven Trigg did his job, but IMO Neil Craig and his loyalty to his senior players didn’t allow him to do his. And now we are paying for it.

Good question. Where were the huddles when the game was on the line.

Sorry this post my first since the game... so frustrated with the club at the moment. WTF was that.

Jenny, I don't normally give you a hard time, but that song, well, it's just shit.

Matey... the song (whether you like the music or not :p) is all about the lyrics. They are brilliant lyrics and she was a very ballsy bird to call him out over his commitment to the war in Iraq. And hell, the song was really really good for this purpose! :D

I'd actually rather have the board and trigg removed and Adelaide changed to a membership based club, before Craig getting sacked.

Failing that, I'd rather some of the older guys retire than Craig get sacked.

Nah, The Dixie Chicks were ballsy; Green Day were kinda ballsy; those two did it early on in the piece, and they (especially The Dixie Chicks) copped a huge amount of flack for it.

By the time Pink did it, it was just bandwagoning - the statement had been made when it mattered, she just jumped in at the end.

Yeah, maybe. But I still think it's a great song. :o Wish I hadn't done this now. :D

To 'Somebody's Crying' by Chris Isaak:

I know somebody and his name is Trigg
He says that Craig's the man for the gig
I wonder if his nose will grow from that fib
I know that, somebody's lying

I know that, somebody's lying

I know somebody and his name's Neil Craig
The players don't listen to a word he'll say
Unless he's telling them to handball the wrong way
I know that, somebody's lying

I know that sombody's lying

Give us a sign and let us know we're through
If you can't play for the jumper like we want you to
But if our form isn't just because we're poo
I know that, somebody's lying

I know that somebody's lying

Umm...yeah :o

Did ya even READ the lyrics?

Yeah i did, i know the song and now I’m confused? Did you not say “I'm a BIG fan” and in reference to Steven Trigg?

The lyrics from the song Dear Mr President is in relation to George W Bush and his ignorance towards making a change. So are you saying, Steven Trigg isn’t willing to make a change?

What is the correlation between Bush and Trigg unless you only wanted to post a crap Pink song.

It sounds like you are trying to post a parody of a song to try and take some attention away from Sir Neil losses a lot.

I do agree with this, I still think there is a mentality at the club about the senior players being the leaders down at the club. When everyone wants to question why our 2nd tier players never seem to take the next step I think they also need to question whether it is because they have not had the torch passed to them and there is a subconcious belief that it's not upto them to be ones leading the side.

Give these guys an opportunity to grow and become leaders rather than pushing them to the side while the same guys remain the leaders year after year.

Cannot stand the Dixie Chicks but respect what they did. Those girls lost millions of dollars for standing up for their values and beliefs. Green Day are just punks. Pink, crap song but that song represents a very good set of values and beliefs she holds.

Jenny, I know the song.

My question was to Triggy - "So, Mr CEO?"

My second question was more in hope - after really great careers it's time some of the oldies stepped aside.

no actually it was about how Bush is out of touch with the people - I suspect Triggy knows exactly how we feel
