I'll put my hand up and admit I am one who revelled in your early season slump and struggle with injuries....but not until now have I clearly understood how difficult it is to be competitive whist having your 3 tall defenders all out injured

the fact you guys haven't been blown out of the water by teams is a credit to your clubs fighting spirit

Throw in Gram, Goddard and Leigh Fisher. Oh, and Hayes, Harvey, Ball, Xavier Clarke, Matthew Clarke, Raph Clarke.

Aaron Hamill, Michael Gardiner.

But injuries are no excuse for not winning games, as we all hear from opposition supporters.

The disappointing thing is that although some players are really standing up, we do have a few who are battling for a kick at the moment - and thats hurting us.

Wow, a sympathetic Collingwood supporter - do me a favour, pop into Hell for a sec and tell me if its frozen over?;) Anyway, I disagree, we've been flogged by Essendon, Geelong and Freo so we haven't really not been blown out of the waters.... but thanks for caring.... its pretty miserable here at the moment - I think Richmond will beat us.

yes we have had bad run with injuries but we had a strong side on the weekend and it was our chance to perform but unfortuantely we played that defensive style of crap so we only have ourselves to blame and ross lyon's shit gameplan

I recognise it's got a lot to do with injuries. But it's really the game plan. The Saints aren't trying to WIN at the moment - they're trying NOT TO LOSE. Teams that think that way (ie, Sydney, Kangas last year, and now us) can win, but often don't have as much fun doing it. And plenty of teams who play like that lose - maybe not Sydney for two years, but plenty of others.

I don't agree that we go for the hero-cull. Kosi's fine. Howard'll be great. Gwilt's going okay. Gardiner needs to get fit, but will play three or more great years for the club once he is. Raph could barely walk at the beginning of the year, so I think he's a hero for even getting on the park - he'll rock.

I don't like the game-style, but coaches change, they grow. Laidley played "basketball-crap" last year, and now he's got the Kangas playing beautiful attacking footy. RL can change his stripes too.

St.kilda in the year 2025......new year, same injury problems. It seems the saints have a stack of key injuries each year. Hope things will change very soon.
