I'm heading off to England in a few weeks for 12 months - can anyone recommend some British bands that are a must see?

A couple no one may have heard of....
The Cooper Temple Clause - Rock with a bit of electronica in it bordering on industrial. I like it.
Shooting at Unarmed Men - The lead singer is the ex singer/bass player from great Welsh band McLusky (RIP!)
The Futureheads are pretty good too.

Go to a few festivals like Glastonbury and the like.They're great to go camping with mates (usually in mud). I didn't really go for the music, just the atmosphere and the boozy lifestyle.
Also be prepared to save heaps of money for gigs. There are so many international bands that tour the UK. It's not like Australia, where you might see half a dozen good bands every year - they all go there!
Also a little tip, be prepared to lower your "standards" for chicks. There's not much talent there.
