Carlton/sturt
It is pretty obvious that there has to be some decisions made on the future of our playing group.

I have taken it upon myself to breakdown our list into 3 catagories: safe, definitely delist and undecided. As a separate catagory I will list our trade options.
I will cover this over three weeks to break up the size of the thread. Week one will cover the safe and definitely delist catagories

I welcome any Carlton supporter to add their thoughts.

SAFE

Eddie Betts- exciting impact player definitely has a role
Scott Camporeale- should be on a reduced contract next year/ should see out his career in a HFF role.
Andrew Carrazzo- I like this young lad will develop
Callum Chambers- Had an ok wizard cup injuries haven't helped him, would like to see what he can do
Brendan Fevola- our most important player but needs better delivery from team mates
Bradley Fisher- Good marking forward with some match practice will be handy in 06
Barnaby French-solid ruckman needs a good back up
Ryan Houlihan- to much finesse but still handy when he's on
Anthony Koutoufides-need i say more
Matthew Lappin- good honest footballer
Heath Scotland- Handy player would be good of the bench
Nick Stevens- Good midfielder, sould be more accountable, shouldn't be our marquee midfielder
David Teague- Valuable defender great if he was our third or fourth best defender
Bret Thornton- Young promising someone to build our defence around
Jarrad Waite- Most improved this year, good player
Andrew Walker- hasn't developed as most people would have liked but will get better
Lance Whitnall- Does he look like a former All Australian and 80 goal kicker? see trades

DEFINITELY DELIST
Glen Bowyer- maybe harsh, but no point delaying the inevitable
David Clarke- finds the ball ok shocking disposal, never wanted him on our list who did geelong pick up with that draft pick?

DELIST

Add Trent Sporn,Justin Davies,Karl Norman

TRADE

Nick Stevens,Heath Scotland,Lance Whitnall

i don't think you would Delist Davies, Sporn and Norman. Sporn and Norman won rising star nominations last year so there would be clubs out there willing to trade for them if we decided we didn't need them. Sporn has done the job on Hird about 3 times so I'm sure a club like Essendon would look at him and being from SA surely the Crows or PA would consider him as well as a trade, Norman is a developing key position player who be worth a punt and Davies has played some excellent football in patches especially against Collingwood and Essendon.

Woulnd't get squat for those two.

Keep McGrath, get rid of Bannister.

If McGrath is woth nothing at all then it would pointless even keeping him. It just says that he is simply not good enough and not worth perservering with.

Get rid of DAVIES, NORMAN, SPORN, MORREL, BANNISTER, DELUCA, HOULIHAN and WHITNALL

DAVIES - a total letdown and bum. Too small, lazy, weak and only looks skillful with easy ball-gets, which means he LACKS SKILL, and space waster.

NORMAN - never lived up to his initial hype. Also lacks skill, courage and determination. Has poor disposal.

HOULIHAN - sure he gets the ball and it looks good on the stats sheet but his disposal is ABYSMAL. What use is it if he gets 5 kicks and 3 handpasses in a quarter when at least 4 of those are no-pressure turnovers into opposition goals?

MORREL - looks good but isn't good.

DELUCA - 6 foot 7 of nothing. sure he's tall but the guy care barely hold a mark or kick straight, and is too slow and lubersomely weak around the ground to pose any threat to any team.

SPORN - see Houlihan, but doesn't get the ball as much

BANNISTER - he's a 'run with tagger' who often gets run out. what good is that?

WHITNALL - the new McKernan, and a constant roller-coaster of disappointment. His champion days are well behind him, and he's at an age where he should be playing his best footy. He's simply not, his future well and truly behind him, but would probably fit in well into a club with a better list a-la Ottens, McFee or Moloney.

What hype? He was taken with a 6th round draft pick for f.uck sake. Your assessment of Norman is completely wrong. He has courage and plenty of skill. The thing that is affecting Norman at the moment is confidence.

Bannister must go.

Not sure why people say Deluca should go, will develop into a good player.

Try and trade Whitnall if possible.

Whitnall has to be history at Carlton and Stevens is our marquee midfielder with Kouta facing the end of the road very soon.

There was no draft pick exchanged, the Hawks got another dud in Beaumont and the Cats received Loats.Carlton also picked up 2 other stars by the names of Johnson and Harford in the deal.
