Hamilton is a medium sized half-back who exhibits good composure, decision making, and skills by hand and foot.

The 18-year-old from Port Adelaide in the SANFL has excellent endurance and great awareness.

He averaged 16 touches in six games at 76 per cent efficiency during NAB AFL Under-18 Championships for South Australia.

Having shown an ability to push forward later in the 2014 season, Hamilton registered 24/30 in the goalkicking test at the NAB AFL Draft Combine.

With good football pedigree, Hamilton is the nephew of former AFL stars Darren and Andrew Jarman

So, any insights on how Declan is progressing from you Doggies trackwatchers?

I know many thought he was a bit of a surprise packet at #pick 39 but i am a fan.

He was #pick 21 on my personal board, so am interested in how he progresses.

I reckon his career might produce a handy dividend.

I liked what i saw of him in the game against the dees. Rushed at times which caused errors but seems to have a good footy brain and get into good spots.
