THIRTEEN AND CLOSING
This weeks game will be Lids' 150th. I think he's the 11th(?) youngest player to achieve this milestone.

Not bad for a 24 year old with 2x AA noms (possibly a third) and 2x B&F's to his name. Hopefully his next 150 will include some finals though... And a few premierships. :D

Go Lids. :thumbsu:

Yes.

Could become a 300 game player. I still think he can go up another notch.

Still not sure what his best position is, I'm hoping he plays his best games in the midfield.

personally I hope lids plays around 350 games:o

best posiition is in the midfield with rotations into the F50.

saw the crows game yesterday and does some really smart moves in 1v1's :thumbsu:

i really feel for this bloke sometimes.
it aint his fault he ended up at tigerland

chops a belting by fans at other clubs because of how good he clearly can be but there's only so much a kid can do in a woeful side

murphy and pendlebury are contemporaries of Lids' who i believe wouldve suffered the same fate over the last 5 yrs at tigerland.

finally lids has some mates to share the burden and i really hope we get some success so this kid isnt the next richo - an absolute superstar who misses out on the accolades because of the shortcomings of the club

suffers a bit from the M Waugh syndrome (makes it looks so easy when it works that when it doesnt he gets questioned)

would love to see him in the AA - i reckon he's a chance - and will love seeing him (even more than a Cotchin) taste some success going forward. otherwise i wouldnt begrudge him leaving to find it himself

Cops a bad wrap. Will be elite in a finals team.

When Judd went to Carlton people thought he was shot, had lost a yard, etc.

All of a sudden when Carlton were good enough for the finals, Judd wins his second Brownlow and now they are basically top 4 he is unbackable to win a third.

No one plays to their potential in a rubbish side. Can't wait to watch Lids tear it up and finally prove all the haters wrong.

Get it done this week for lids, Make this a milestone to remember.

Although norf will probably come up with the annual Eugene has crapped his pants game or something along those lines.

Congrats lids a champion of the club.

Congrats to Brett. Would love to see a montage of his hairstyles across the 150 game journey.

Do me a favour mate. Let Richard and Cam know that Lids has played 100 games like I insisted at the Checkside Tavern!!!!!!!!!
Remember when he had to guess who had played 100 games? I said Deledio straight out and it was shot down in flames.
he's well and truly played 100

Great first half to a career, has been a soldier, despite some bad press he gets from insiders and outsiders alike.

Has missed only four games in that time.

We really owe him this one :thumbsu:

Excellent post. Terrific resilience from Lids - only 4 games missed is a great effort. So predictable the plaudits he'll get when we are a top side - from the same knuckledraggers who reckon he's overrated now.

when i was 16 i got the exact same hairstyle as him (bleach blonde spiky comb over thing) and I've had a very similar cut ever since

Correct Tug!!!

When I logged on and saw this thread I thought "Hang on a minute!"

You are spot on. Despite being on your 10th West End, your clarity of thought cannot be doubted.

Youngest ever Tiger to reach 150. Fantastic effort, let's hope the boys can get up for him. Also hope he kicks a goal to bring up 100 too :):thumbsu:

A fair amount of champions on the list too...

The top 10 list of young Tigers to reach the 150-game milestone is:
Brett Deledio: 24 years, 139 days
Matthew Knights: 24 years, 332 days
Bryan Wood: 25 years, 116 days
Kevin Bartlett: 25 years, 152 days
Wayne Campbell: 25 years, 249 days
Joel Bowden: 25 years, 279 days
Dale Weightman: 25 years, 304 days
Ray Poulter: 26 years, 121 days
David Cloke: 26 years, 199 days
Kevin Sheedy: 26 years, 208 days
Lids is a real warhorse with his durability... I can't believe that he is half way to 300 games already.
Seems to me to still be a 'younger' player.

In a couple of years when he has been released into a mid/half forward role will literally win games off his own boot.

Legend. :thumbsu:

From a punting perspective is it safe to say Cotchin Martin RVoldt etc will all want to play in his 150th and not be rested??
Cheers guys hope you guys get up/belt them.

would love half a dozen of him in our side, two in the defence, two in the midfield/wing and two up forward, in terms of talent he is one of the most well rounded players i have ever seen, cops so much shit that is undeserved, has been in our top 3 players again this season and one of the best HBF's in the comp, well done mate.

Would imagine so mate. Think we will be going out there to belt them. We have our top end draft picks from last few years. Deledio, Riewoldt, Cotchin, Martin, Vickery, Conca. Need to start winning consistently.
