Gumby won't be delisted.
Probably Grgic,Foster & Hunt.Add te retirements of White,Fabio & Woolnough and that's 8 players gone from the list [include Street & Clarke].

Mooney, like i said earlier in the week, is happily contracted for another year.

Finnin, well, i like Ben, think he has a future and should be retained for at least another 1 or 2 seasons to prove his worth.

i wouldnt chop hunt.. finnin wasnt traded for as a long term prospect either...it was to get rid of ronnie... mooney..well have to be his last chance

We have to use 4 draft choices and given the quality of the pre season draft we would be mad not to have a selection there.

Grgic can't possibly be kept on the list , he is out of contract so no problem . Danial Foster would have to be in trouble.

If we were to use pick 54 (4th round) then we would have to delist somebody else. Personally 4 picks in a weak draft is about all we need I think. Maybe we don't promote a rookie because both those guys can go around again next year as rookies.

I've heard that Smith will be elevated, still not confirmed. Personally, I would prefer Byrnes though.

In straight numbers, Geelong has 38 players on it's list, 5 are confirmed gone, while 2 have been added. At the moment we have picks 7, 22, 38, 42 and 54. You must enter the draft with a maximum list size of 35, which is what Geelong has.

However there will be rookie promotions, at least Slade and probably one more (I wish Byrnes, but it may be Smith). Which means at least two more delistings, plus considering that we traded to get pick 42, we might as well use it, so that is another delisting. Also we will want to keep one position free for the preseason draft, so that is another delisting.

That means four players being delisted, Grigic, Foster and Hunt are all obvious candidates for the chop, but someone else will have to make way as well.

Pretty much spot on Jim. I forgot about Slade. I reckon he'd be lucky to be retained next year. We have a million HBF's

under AFL rules we have to use pick 42 that we got for WCE

You also forgot we have pick 5 in the preseason draft. Looks like there could be some handy players in that especially if a few guys from Brisbane get sqeezed out. I think we will definately be using our selection in that.

I'm another on the keep Hunt bandwagon. If we drop him from the senior list is it theoretically possible for him to be given a spot on the rookie list?

To be honest I think both Hunt and Slade may be kept. Byrnes doesn't need to be promoted just yet, while Slade does.

This is possible, because I think either Graham or Riccardi or both can be put down as veterans, creating one or two additional spots on the list.

I'm not too concerned about promoting Byrnes just yet, as almost always a spot becomes available anyway through injury etc. I mean Slade got a gig easily enough.

The reason why I suggest keeping Slade, if Benny goes on to the veteran list, is that it is either Slade or a late pick in a draw that is being described as one of the shallowist in years, and I'd rather go with Slade rather some young hack who'll never play seniors ad get the chop at the earliest opportunity.

No Seb he will be a regular next year, you just have to have the right contacts within the club to know this.
