I remember last year that Colin Wisbey rated this guy very highly, #7 overall in last years draft. Well I just watched him on TV tearing up West Perth, had about 20-25 possessions and 3 goals, including the sealer. Looks quick and hard-at-it. Does alot of the 1%ers, diving into packs, smothering etc Apparently he is in the WA state team (not U18) to play SA in a few weeks. Could be one to keep an eye on in this years draft.

Surely he has a flaw to his game, ala Swallow and his kicking action. I can't imagine a kid being in the senior State team and not even being rookie listed.

From the limited footage I have seen of him, its not so much that he has flaws, I think its more that he isnt outstanding in any one area. Also, he didnt come through the junior development path (ie state u16's and u18's) because he only really focused on footy afew years back. No doubt he deserves to at least be on an AFL rookie list going by his WAFL performances this season. In fact his performances have been so good he would be a candidate to be promoted.

In your opinion do you think he's worth picking up in next years draft and, if so, about which pick do you think is fair for him?

Havent seen him anywhere near enough to judge.

Also this years draft is very strong which makes it even harder to gauge. Even if he has a strong year in the WAFL, he is probably still looking at the rookie draft, possibly late in the national draft.

You can tell he is new to football, he goes to the wrong places at times but with some intense AFL coaching you wouldn't think that would be a problem.

He was picked up by Swan Districts from amateur side, Kalamunda early last year. Played Reserves last year and couldn't break into the League side last year. But with an excellent pre-season he has found a permanent spot in the League side this year.

The kid has a big future ahead if not in the AFL, he will be an excellent player for Swan Districts for years to come. :thumbsu:

WAFL On on Access 31 in Perth just spoke to him live on the telephone.

He only started his football career at the age of 17 (now 19). Previously played rugby and thought it was time for a change. Played three games for Hills Hawks in the Swans Zone, then was picked up by Swan Districts Colts.

Played some games for the Colts, then went to play Amateur footy for Kalamunda. And then again decided to head back to Swans and that's where he is now!

Does Wiseby's No.7 pick of the 2005 draft have any chance of getting picked up this year? Have heard he has been playing some very good footy in the WAFL. Any opinions from WA Watchers???
