I know there have probably been a couple of threads on him already (although i haven't been on the board for ages so don't crucify me) but i reckon this kid is just an absolute star. He was a concreter since he was 14 and just one look at him and you can tell straight away, he is very very strong. It's a shame that he's with us at this time, it really is, he's good enough for a game and i think the coaching panel just have to find a way to put him in the 22. Although just a new draftee he already is very vocal in training and getting involved with the boys which is great to see. Is very fast and efficient IMO and will be an absolute star of the future.

He may have been the most underated player in this draft, and i think he was an absolute steal at pick #46 and that will be very well known in 1-2 years. He is a definite 150+ game player and a star of the club.

Has anyone else taken note of him? What do you think?

Carlton may well have found a pretty good player here. Didn't know anything about him until after the draft, but he has very good speed, uses the ball well, and the thing that really stands out is his 1 percenters. His chasing, spoiling, tackling, blocking, etc, etc are very very good. Would be a chance for a round 1 debut.

Yes i have thought that myself, he seems so committed you just can't help but notice him. I was a bit sceptical when we drafted him ahead of other positions, but he is now my 2nd favourite player.

A well thought out, and inspired draft choice. Think he'll debut early. Has an extreme attack on the ball, and excellent leg speed, and is the perfect matchup for the soft small receiving forward types like Thomas and Brown. But this guy is more than a tagger. He has excellent skills, and midfielder potential. He's just the sort of player we need - a small-medium, fast, agrressive defender who uses the ball well. :)

All for giving young blokes a go.....in the NAB cup. Maybe if he performs in the Bullants, he might bet a game in the second half of the year.

Bloody big call here. And everyone falling into line with you too. Whatever happened to the cynacism of the cowered woodenspooner?

I'll give you this, he looks to have the ideal build for an annoying, nuggety, close-checking back pocketer. Perhaps something along the lines of Gary O'Donnell?

No way. First 4 games of the season he will get a game, and i reckon he will feature constantly in the 22 during 2008.

You just have to see him in training. Is an absolute freak.

I'm not expecting too much from a player drafted at pick 46, so I'd hold my breath before labelling the DA the steal of the draft, a 150 gamer and your second favourite player. I expect Armfield to play back pocket or HBF and have a similar season to the pacy Jake King if he gets a chance and impresses enough to stay in the team.

You don't see many guns drafted at pick 46.

I have Grigg and Anderson ahead of him.

I think that's a large estimation. I wouldn't be suprised if this guys gets a spot within, or just after the first five rounds.

I like the looks of him as well TBNB.....
don't know, there is something about this guy that just gets your attention.
Maybe cause he really wants to make a go of it in the AFL & in his own words he has matured & ready to give it his all.
He told me he hopes to get a go in South Africa & he is just dying to get out there & play his heart out for the Blues.
He is putting the effort in training..... I just hope he can put the same effort in (if not more....lol) out on the ground in game.
After speaking to the young lad..... he generally is one of the nicest guys to speak to as well.... thumbs up for DA for me :thumbsu:

EBIAC, I may have to start a collection of your better work. :p

Every year a late round draft oick makes an immediate impact..

Matthew Egan, caneron Bruce, westhoff,Rodan, Brad Fisher are just a few who come to mind in recent years.

Lets hope its Armfield this year
