Known as the Muswell Hill Murderer or the Kindly Killer (which seems to be a self attributed title), Nilsen killed at least 15 young men in London between 1978 and 1983. They were mostly homosexuals or homeless men.

I first became aware of this one through a friend who was heavily into the punk scene. He had played a song by Chaotic Dischord with the lyrics 'Dennis Nilsen, Dennis Nilsen, set him free, 'cos he's alright', and wondered what it was about. He explained Nilsen was a serial killer who killed homosexuals and in true anti-social fashion, this was considered to be a good thing (totally ignoring the fact that Nilsen himself was having sex with these guys, before and after he killed them.

I find it interesting that at least 3 would be victims escaped and 2 of them even reported it to police and nothing was done.

He used to keep bodies in the floor boards and get them out now and again and ended up burning them in bonfires. It was when he continued to murder after moving to a place that had no incinerator or floorboards that he came unglued. He would cut up the bodies and flush bits down the toilet and eventually the pipes of the flat complex he lived in became blocked.

I remember reading that Nilsen knowing the jib was up, and left a note at work the day he was arrested saying that any rumours about him having killed himself in custody were false. Obviously expected to be murdered by police or other prisoners.

Oh this guy was super strange he killed his victims sat them in a arm chair like they sat there to watch telly etc and he went to work. And when he came home he said to hes victim you still sitting there is that all you been doing all day? Dennis moved to a up stairs apartment which was hes down fall because he couldnt burry his victims he had to boil there bones and one day the apartments plumbing was all blocked up.

How would you be though. Tried to kill one guy, the guy escapes, reports it to police and the police treat it as a domestic argument and do nothing. The guy had only just met Nilsen. If I didn't know better, I'd suggest this was a homophobic reaction by the police of that time.
