Although I'm hesitant to draw any revelations from a defeat at the hands of Geelong, whats becoming pretty clear is that our emerging forwards are struggling under fire. JR and MM will play a key part of our future attack however we still need someone to take the FF posi by the horns. If this Cameron fella is worth his salt I sure hope he's on the same page post season. Get to work fella

They lack experience IMO, that's the key factor. Thought a lot of our guys lowered their colours due to the mental aspect of playing such an imposing and dominant team. When they're confidant enough in their size and abilities they'll start taking the premier backlines apart.

Plenty of talented tall forwards to be had in this draft. Watts, Hurley, McKernan, Lisle, Johnston, Cornelius, Trengove etc (granted some are probably more tall defenders then forwards). Hopefully we can get one of these guys. Be massive if we could get 2 of them.

Take the bull by the horns and go all out for JB. Even if we only get 3 - 4 years out of the rumoured 5 it will be worth it. The boost in confidance with the young players around him will be massive, not to mention membership and club promotion. I wonder if we would be 2 - 3 wins better off this year if we had went harder for Judd?

Schulz is being thrown around too much. Hes the type of player who needs to settle into a spot. He is a natural forward - I've always thought so. I agree with sante, give Schulz to 50 with Morton, Brown and Riewoldt and get the job done.

How many games of footy do some of you blokes have to watch before you realise forwards (talls or otherwise) live or die based on the quality and frequency of the ball coming out of midfield and rebound from defence? Before you realise that the last three flags have been won by sides with at least one, if not two pretty damn ordinary key forwards?

When our key forwards have had an acceptable level of quality and quantity this year, they've got the job done. We're a higher scoring team than quite a few sides above us and even with our current forward line comprised almost entirely of green rookies, we'd be in the top couple of heaviest scoring sides if our midfield had reached the level it will be at 2-3 years from now.

We could stick Pavlich, Brown, Reiwoldt and Fevola in our forward line next season and it wouldn't make SFA difference to our premiership chances - because we don't yet have a crack midfield full of pace, talent and depth, and a backline stacked with blokes who can rebound fast, long and accurate.
