Even if I don't watch it much, AFLW does serve a very important purpose. Why shouldn't girls have their own footy players and role models to look up to ?

AFLW must be a huge money sink. Nobody watches or cares about it, even the do-gooders who defend it don't go and support it.

Maybe it's a costly white elephant right now, and we may not see financial and long term benefits from maybe 50 years from now, but it's definitely a worthwhile investment, especially to get girls/women actively invested in the sport and fitness etc

I’d like to think I support it. I do indeed have Lions AFLW membership, it’s just annoying that the season starts around the same time that 90% of my university semester 2 assessment is due and also clashes with the AFL men’s finals.. I’ll be good to go if we’re good enough to get to host the Grand Final though..AFLW must be a huge money sink. As a middle aged man I am too young to ever clearly remember being hurt by Carlton. My retired dad told me you beat us in a GF around the time George Bush's Dad (also George?) was president of the US. That must have been a great time for you.
