Ok, I'm not crying sour grapes, saying we were robbed, nor do I intend making a big deal out of this. I'm more bewildered on a non-decision on yesterdays game.
The incident in question happened in the last quarter. One of our backmen kicked it out of our defensive 50 to Croad. A Sydney player went for the big hang over Croadie (as it was a pretty ordinary kick). The Sydney player planted his knee firmly between Croadie's shoulder blades and took him out of the contest. The Sydney player in question got hands to the ball but didn't take the mark. If he had took the mark, fine, I wouldn't be asking this, but he didn't. So doesn't that mean a free kick to the player who gets "illegaly" taken out of the marking contest should be awarded??
I was quite fired up about this one at the time because the direct result was a turn over and a goal to Sydney.
The commentators didn't say anything, which surprised me.
Anyone see this?? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
