Well, one consistent aspect remained, Bradley can't play as a tall in defence. Lucas smashed him with 5. Big wraps on Davey though. Johns and Laycock moved well also.

Obviously NOT there to watch the game...

Kepler held his own and beat Lucas in the first half before being Moved away and replaced by Ryder in the second half...

Christ, you're on the ball. I posted that about a week ago and mentioned the fact that I could only go on what Id read in the paper.

Obviously NOT there to watch the thread.

hi guys.

just wondering about the progress of mark bolton and how he is going
and thoughts on how he will go in the season proper...
Bolton is being Bolton, he is burning up the track but his skills with the ball arent that good. In the season i am hoping he will be used as a run-with type player, someone who could tag the likes of Kouta simply because of his superiour atheletic ability. In 07 i dont really want to see him in our 22, i would rather give a kid a go in our 22 any day.

As I mentioned up thread, I disagree.

Kepler beat Lucas in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Lucas started to perk up a little, and started winning contests, although I think he only actually scored one goal (I believe he missed at least one though).
And I'm pretty sure Bradley was on Lucas at the start of Lucas's demolition in the third quarter. I think he was moved part way through it.

Bradley's major issue was that he just isn't fast off the mark. As Lucas pushed back to the goal square, Bradley had less opportunity to read the play and simply beat Lucas. Instead, he started toe to toe, and when Lucas lead usually gave him a bit of a lead. Of course, this did coincide with the Red team's midfielders getting a bit more on top, but the delivery was hardly first class.

On Bolton, early on for the weaker side he got a good deal of possession playing in the midfield. However, too often when he got it he held it up or kicked sideways. He did do one beautiful little chip into the forward line, but generally he's just not football savvy. Hope he's pushed out of the team this year.
