I remember him being injured late last year and from memory, reports were he needed a reco. Just wondering on any updates and if he did actually need a reco. Thanks guys.

He had a partial tear, and required reconstructive surgery. However he is ahead of schedual in his recovery.

At training yesterday he was jogging laps and with his 1on1 kicking was kicking on his left 40 metres passes perfectly to a trainer. Also kicked on his right a few times. He looked very fit but no doubt no where near ready till he at least starts training with the rest of the boys.

Thats great to hear, thanks for that 3066
Yer i also heard he was recovering well and i think i heard a while ago he may be expected back by mid season, but i rekon that would of changed with his quick recovery.

Because it was only a partial tear do you think it might help with his recovery compared to a full tear? I am no doctor but was just wondering!

It largely depends on the player. There are some players that, because of attitude, do not train to the highest extent they can or overtrain and reinjure themselves. I'm not sure whether it helps that it was not a full tear, but Didak is a bloke who will do all he can to get it ready but at the same time will be sensible enough not to risk another injury. I remember in 03, Tarks was ready to come back in R21 after seventeen weeks out of the game but missed because of an unrelated injury. It also depends on how well the ligament heals. I hope that answers your question BFG

cheers! fingers crossed

A player I love to hate, and a highly skilled player of the game, so it's good to see he's progressing well.

FWIW, I had a partial tear of my lateral meniscus, and whilst I know it's a bit different, the surgery I had did nothing but make it worse. A couple of weeks after I started walking again I tore it properly walking down the road. With that in mind, I'm not a professional footballer.

wouldn't risk him until mid season

cant afford to risk one of our most valuable players

let him get used to things back at willi for a couple of weeks too i reckon before stepping into the one's
