There can be no doubt that her attempts to use her position to influence the assigning of numbers was completely inappropriate, if she wished to see this happen she should have asked someone else to put forward the idea rather than herself. In the end it came across as nepitism and really put her in a bad light.

Can somone give us a run down on any positives she has done for the club, or is it all a social scene ?

Well at least we now know who the leak on the board is. What a disgrace of a board member and a Carlton supporter. The sooner she is gone the better. Clearly a very bitter person as she was not a member of the Unity ticket.

Now before I get accused of being on Smorgons pay roll and having my head in the sand I have stated many times that I believe the way things have been handled hasn't been great. But tell me, how does leaking board business to the media so they can slag us off help in any way? This is yet another person putting their individual political needs ahead of the football clubs.

In a Smorgon vs Diggins scenario, it doesn't matter if she is being frozen out, doesn't matter if Smorgon is a dictator. Quite simply he has some skills to be able to keep the club afloat. She is deadwood on the current board and fare little better on some new board.

Smorgon may be autocratic in his attitude but after all the leaks and dissension we have had, he was hardly going to embrace the ideas of Diggins. She should come forward and tell us exactly what ideas she did have that weren't listened to. If they are impressive ideas, the perception of her might change.

The Smorgon affiliated directors have obviously had a gutful of the publicity and the divides and have opted to move forward without the schoolyard gossip.

The both sound like stubborn so and sos really, but one has the business acumen, one doesn't.

After that outburst being released to the media, I would have thought she would have little or no chance of being elected back onto the Board as an independant.

I would also question why she made a statement through a PR company anyway. Surely Carlton have had enough bad press over the past few months, and she has just added to that.

I may not like Smorgon and have already expressed my views on this, but for Diggins to go to the press purely for her own "ego" and to see her name in the paper is pretty deplorable in my books.

I got no problem with the outburst. We need to know, who and what we're voting for. No other way we're going to find out. Our opinions need to be informed when casting votes.

Not that I think she is the only one. I imagine all sides of our little fiefdom have hidden behind the press and forums to spin their side of a story.

I guess she hopes to harness our generally anti Smorgon attitudes.

They all need their heads banged together to knock some sense into them and try to get them to actually work together for our club. No matter what the faction.

Yeah she's shown tranperency to both the Herald Sun and The Age.

Totally inappropriate actions against the unity of the board in both the Pagan Job Review leaking (allegedly) and the diabolical Sheehan incident.

She's got a fair point about not being able to get access to the full Watts report... However, if I was President I would want her immediately leaking it either. She cannot be trusted and how that's good for the football club, well I've got no idea.

If they wanted them to be public they would hold them in a public place and invite everyone over. What she has done is extremely irresponsible and has the damaged the reputation of the club. The sooner she is gone the better.

Smorgon may be be gone if they had come forward but they haven't so he will stay president. At least Smorgon has the balls to step up to the plate and try to rubuild the club on and off field. He has made mistakes, nobdoy denies that but he is standing while the rest of the white knights do nothing, for that I will thank and support him.

I take it your refering to todays article where The Leak talks about the reports being withheld from some board members. I do struggle to believe anything that comes out of her mouth and frankly I wouldn't be giving anything confidential to her as she has proven that she will go straight to the media and give it to them.

Surely disclosing confidential club information to the media is the worst thing any board member can do?

The line of though is that all the leaks in the last 2-3 months have come from Diggins, now if this is true then it is good she is gone. It is painfully clear to everyone is clashing with Smorgon. I think it is a pretty ordinary way of doing it if she has been.

Dave watch how you write things, your first sentence might land you in court if someone were so inclined.

But for what it's worth, if Diggins has been leaking stuff to the media then, and i've said this a number of times over the past 1-2yrs, I couldn't give a stuff what they (anyone who leaks)) brings to the table in other areas I believe any leak needs to be removed immediately. That would be non-negotiable in my business, you leak and you're gone. Simple as that.

Would that make me a dictator to have such a policy? Bad luck, you leak you're gone, bye bye no further questions asked. Couldn't give a stuff if you think i'm a dictator, tell your story walking.

Interesting reading Jake Niall's article, but I would like to see her media release myself without Niall's editorialising. But if it's true she likens him to a dictator and whinged about him craving absolute power (in her opinion), then it tells me she's not up to the job. Any decent business needs a leader, sometimes to organise and direct the other leaders, that is not an unhealthy situation to have. And if you have a point of view or a different idea or suggestion then the appropriate way to deal with it is to sit down with everyone in an inclusive way and discuss your grievances or ideas - NOT run to the media and launch what basically amounts to a smear campaign. If you really do have a brilliant plan of ideas that differs to those already in place then you will be able to persuade them, and if not then they will persuade you where you're going wrong, either way you're all communicating without having the club brand given an absolute trashing in the media every other day.

Any healthy board will have differing opinions, it's how you handle those differences that determines if you're capable or not.

I haven't said Diggins is the leak directly, read what i write a bit more carefully please.
