Dirty Three played at the Forum on Saturday night. This was the first gig I've gone to for ages (after I left uni, I've been unable to find the kind of crowd that is into these things) and the first I've seen of Dirty Three.

Batrider were first up. I had never heard of them but from the first chords I was taken back to my days in the Adelaide Uni bar and the Tiv, listening to ramshackle punk amongst a sea of flanelette.

Art of Fighting were next. They were good. Tight and a bit more mellow. I don't know whether they are my thing though. They could grow on me.

Dirty Three were amazing. Listening to their albums gives you a sense of the emotion they evoke but seeing it live was something else.

Was anyone else there?

Nope, but seen Dirty Three on numerous occasions. Very entertaining band.
