Not all doom and gloom for mine, but certainly some issues.

Thought we did not adapt to the conditions at all, but they could be different next week (pray for good weather guys).

Thought some maligned players stood up today - CJ, Gilbo and Raph were quite good in my opinion (acknowledging that this is not a universal view).

Some senior players let us down today, and this includes some of our favourites : Harvs, Roo, and Max. Kosi and Blake were ordinary.

Geelong had some great midfield depth with Ablett, Bartel and McInerney. Might not be as bad next week .

What has concerned me all year is that the Casey backline contains Wall, Panozza, O'Bryan, Taylor, and Silvagni. Instead of our team getting more dangerous by putting Gram and BJ on the wings or up forward, we have to put them in the backline. Gwilt and Raph also have to go back, yet when Raph has played at Casey he is at CHF.

When we send guys back like Mini, Armo, Birss, X, Fiora and even Leigh Fish we say "go get your own ball". Then we bring them in and ask them to perform lock-down roles. It's just bizarre to ask them to be two different kinds of players from week to week.

Chucky has had 5 kicks, 5 kicks and 8 kicks in rounds 20-22. Did we expect more than the 5 kicks he got in the final?

We also expect Rob Eddy to run around like a headless chook all day making up for the defensive pressure which others are not applying.

You can't blame Eddy, Jones, or Gilbert for that loss. They're young, and did damn well under the circumstances. And you can't blame Harves. No, it's the middle age tier, especially Kosi.

Those players all did fine.
Underachievers were - Kosi, Nick(s) , Gram. If they had been playing well and Ball had been there as well it would have been a different game.

I also find it a bit perplexing that we have ended up with so many fringe players in the regular team.

Geelong are just unbelievable, all around the ground, we put alot of pressure on them and they still ran away from us like we wernt there. Full Credit to Geelong. Too skilled, too fast, too strong. If we play as good as we did last weekend, we will beat Collingwood comfortably.

The aim is to beat them. To just say thay are too good.... what will we never beat them? Should the Saints just forfeit if they get in the Grand Final? Obviously there are players and game plans that need to be improved.

Getting into the finals is not really an achievement in itself.

exactly right... yes there were great tackles and all of that... there were also the basic tackles they walked out of which shouldve stuck..

there were easy kicks dropped with no pressure at all then coz of the dropped mark it became a pressure situation and we cough the ball up...

is it one eyed to think that our team needs to improve on a shocking performance??? or to think that we can improve??

i dont think it is... most of geelongs scoring came from our lack of skill levels and effort on the day... not from them being so great

im not here to argue with a fellow supporter im here to state what i think... as you are.. i could quite easily tell you what you think is a joke too but i wont

but heres a theory to test.... go down to the park with 2 mates... get one to kick it to you right on the chest with the 3rd guy slowly jogging at you but is still 20 metres away.... you should mark it quite easily.. which is my point

when your unmanned with no one near you with a kick to your chest... you should be marking it (and your not even on Thousands of dollars to do it)

my arguement was geelong smashed us not because they are a great team atm(which theyve proven they are) not by playing great footy.. but by our petty mistakes in plays that even teams like melbourne can complete

at afl level players shouldnt be dropping easy marks (once or twice fair enough but it happened all day) i believe the team has alot more ability then it does and it didnt bring its A game.. which i stated in my original post

that theyve gone back into the old habits through out the game rather than what they have been showing as of late...

and i believe we do have the talent to match them... i dont believe we need a full rebuild.. we just need to show the heart that got us into 4th to start with rather that what had as at 5-7

if your tackles are sticking and your taking the easy marks and supporting your team mates as you go forward... no team is to good to beat

but if your 2nd to the ball, not applying the tackling pressure dropping the easy marks when your trying to change the pace... kicking to a 3 on 1 every time you go forward... your going to be introuble all day it doesnt matter who you play.

We're in serious trouble if we lose to the Pies. The media are bloody idiots giving Collingwood a stack of credit and bagging the shit outta us. Collingwood played a good quarter and a half of footy and beat an Adelaide team that had to go to Scott Stevens for goals, which is saying something. Saints weren't fantastic but we weren't that bad. We should start favourites or at least on par, but this is good for us anyhow.

Collingwood should start favourites here due to their recent record against us. I'm happy with the underdog tag. Doesn't mean squat though once the ball is bounced.
