Who is/has been the skills coach at Geelong? For years now thier disposal has not been up to scratch under pressure. We wont win a game this year, unless our kicking improves out of sight, at goal and passing.
Endeavor was good, skills not.

I think it's a confidence thing more then anything. I know the forward line coach, Norm Dare, came under critism last night on K-Rock from some of the callers.

for a team who spent the summer working mainly on their skills, you've got to wonder.

but the season is only 2 games old, still plenty of time

I've been saying this for a while now, and we do completely fall down across the half-forward line. We do pretty well, usually, to get it out of trouble, but once it gets down to the CHF we lose it. It hasn't just started this season, it has been going on during last season as well, and now again this season. We need to really sharpen that up, and with Mooney out it's not going to help.

There is also a problem with forwards leading too early. I, as a former full forward, was taught to wait until the player in possession had full control was looking straight ahead towards the forward line within kicking distance, and to not get sucked up the ground. I did notice some of our players getting sucked up the ground, but it didn't help with Kingsley, in the team to kick goals, miss some pretty straight forward shots.

There are also no crumbers, I believed we were lacking in that way back in 2000, and 2001. Last season wasn't as bad, but then again the problems back again. Crumbing is a critical part of the game, so as soon as we can work this out the better, IMO.

And in general, skill level is poor, needs to be greatly improved.

Losts to work on, but if we're gonna be a good team, we have to.

Go Cats!! :)

We don't have one.

Unlike other clubs, we don't have 23 assistants, only 4.

Therefore it is the responsability of the defensive coach, the forward coach, the midfield coach and the senior coach to ensure skills are adequate.

I still maintain that this is a confidence issue at this stage.

After a pretty good pre season (great compared to last few years), you'd think the confidence would be up.

That's what I would think. How could it disappear from the last praccy game against Essendon to the first round against the Dogs?

Have they become complacent? Did the side think it was just going to happen this year after our improved season last year where they showed glimpses of how good they could be?

I hope I'm wrong but I have a feeling I may be on the mark.

If that is the case, then starting the season with 2 very ordinary losses should send a clear message to the players... lets hope the players get that message and fast.
