What can i expect from him??
Who is he similiar to??? where does he play?
Willhe be a star (or a superstar)
Also what do we expect Selwood to be like?

Djuekrra can get the ball - looks solid - will be a player. Like to think more than just a goalsneak too. Not so convinced though about Varcoe. Seems to slight and flighty who doesn't get enough of it for mine.

Selwood willbe a regular. Will serve him well to have some games in reserves.

Selwood and Prismall - who shapes as possibly Geelongs best non father son recruit in last 10 years are midfield future of club.

Looking at Varcoe's games this year he seems to be used primarily as a goal sneak despite the fact that he was drafted as a mid with a good engine. Obviously missing virtually two years will empty the tank for a while but hopefully after a few preseasons he can add a bit more life to our midfield rotation.

Djerka just seems to have that something special about him. He's very confident and going on his VFL form he doesn't play like it's his first year in the system. I would imagine that a debut isn't too far away but won't be while Stokes and Byrnes are playing in the same side. Was described as a Byron Pickett clone and that's a pretty fair call. He has speed to burn, loves the contested ball and has a ferocious attack on the ball and or the ball carrier. Has shown a fair bit of ability at the stoppages as well so obviously reads the game well. One thing that I would like him to do is be a bit more greedy. Run the ball to 50 and have a ping.

Selwood is class. Isn't quick but he's no slouch either. Reads the game better than most and therefore he's usually in a better position than his opponent so his lack of breakaway speed isn't so evident. One thing we need to remember with him though is, like Varcoe, he has missed a heap of footy. Will be a very good player for a long time.

Good summation, personally I liken Djerrkura to Wirrapunda who is a star. I can see him stealing the ball from forwards running down the middle and bombing long goals.
Varcoe will take longer but you can see he will be able to do some freakish things when he gets used to the pace of the game.
Selwood,as you've said is all class and will lead the midfield in years to come.

I think that Djekurra should be groomed to play a similar role to Wirrapunda on the backline - hard tackler, good kick, plenty of speed. Just what our half back line could use.

I've only seen him play school footy and U-18 but this comparison came to mind when he was drafted, rather than with Pickett - I think he is a bit taller than Wirrpanda. (Notice the spelling of his name - It used to be Wirrpunda.) I'm a bit disappointed with Varcoe but he will be handy - looking forward to Djerrkura coming into the side - not sure where we'd fit him into the backline with Tom Harley's return.

I think Varcoe will be very similar to Ronnie Burns, he will turn it on some days but most days he will keep it at home. But like Sheedy has said, aboriginal boys take longer to develop.. I think Varoce will be a regualr in our team next year after a few games this year under his belt.

Djekurra will be the runner off half back who can be the smaller guy up forward, looks like a player who has pace and isn't scared to bust a pack.

I spoke to Djekurra after a pre season game and he impressed me greatly. He is very mild mannered but determined. He will set a great example to the other players
His second and third efforts are great and he has a hunger for the game.
I think he will step up ounce he gets used to the tempo.
(Great draft selection)

(P.S. They should have taken one more pick in Prismalls brother)

I'd have him in for J Hunt this week.

Mackie is taking tall forwards in Harley's place, but his real home is on the wing or half forward and that is where he will return when Tommy gets back.

Putting him on Wells this week would be worth V lining my way down to geelong to see. He is likened to a less meaty version of pickett which is pretty much what we need IMO happy times

Agreed. Great summary.

Djerrkura reportedly played a good game in the VFL today.

Is he in line for a debut next week? Cats sure could use him.
