Do we need a BF Posters Association

Do we need a BFPA - similar to the AFLPA to advocate the interests of BF Posters to the Mods ?

That way, there is a legitimate voice for those that disagree with thread merging/closing policies etc etc

What do people think?

Can be as informal as a poll to nominate a "rep", most votes wins. That person is the designated Board rep. At any point they can be voted out by someone starting another poll and getting more votes. Polls would need to be open min of 3 days for fairness.

Agreed..... but it does seem like the mods have created an us verses them mentality and I suppose thats why eays wants to create a rep.

Surely the Off season news provided by RFC_official belongs theere.....or is that not official enough?

The Official Off Season thread was created to announce actual delistings/trades when they happen. At least that way posters will have a single thread where they will know exactly what it going on regards the Off season and won't have to wade through pages and pages of posts to find out what it going on.

The thread wasn't started so that posters could to speculate or make comments like we need a sticky predictions thread so that posters can start bashing each other this time next year with documented proof.

If you look at that thread Stigs initial post from the thread he made has been copied there while the thread itself was left to run its course. The same with the Hicks Westhoff delisting thread, the info from that was copied into the Official thread and the other thread was again left to run its course.

I make no apologies for trying to keep the board a little cleaner than previous off seasons where it just becomes an absolute mess. However, I take the 'advice' on board and will let things slide a little more.

I don't really agree with that. I see it more as the people developing a that mentality when a mod does something they don't like.

It may be annoying, but I doubt the mods have a guidebook to go by, or set of standard rules, or weekly meeting to make sure everything is nice and standard. These are guys donating their time, and at any one time one or another may or not be here - of course they'll be inconsistent. They're in effect unpaid amateurs keeping this site running.

Also I hate logging onto a forum and seeing 12,573 threads on why McGuane sucks ass from 12,573 slightly different perspectives. Yes, your entitled to a view, but do you need your own thread to get it across when others are already discussing it?

On trades, one thread is ideal UNLESS a player is up for a legit trade. Do date we have Foley, Jackson, McGuane, Thursfield, Connors, Edwards, Morton, and Deledio all mentioned in trade discussions. None certain, all pure speculation, but do they all need their own thread?

We have a Maric thread because it's one we know is real. It can be discussed as a real trade, and therefore a separate thread is worthwhile.

JMO, but I definitely prefer having one page of unread threads to go through rather than half a dozen discussing the same thing

One of the reasons I came and stayed on this Board is that it has always had a culture of being transparent and accepting comment and criticism at all levels, mods included. The current group of mods have done nothing to change that opinion. "If you got a beef just say so" approach seems to work, well it does for me.
