Forget about the GF, taking that out we had a really good year!
With all our players pretty young and some great talent coming through especially in the big man department, Tarken to come back in also, Bucks to centre half forward, Holland on the improve Didak will be a gun from the midfield to the forward line and is still a baby, Fraser is getting better every year, (Brownlow 2006), back line is rock solid, forwards are doing well 3rd or 4th highest scoring team?

Do we need to chase a Stevens, with our playing list being young; we want to have room in our cap in years to come to retain these players. Stevens is a good player but he is no Buckley/Voss/Hird. He isn’t going to win us a Premiership. Best chance we have is to keep developing our kids, and hope they reach there potential in the near future.

The reason we are chasing Stevens is that the collingwood heirachy believe we have the mix to win a flag at the moment and only lack a touch of skill/class. Hopefully, if stevens doesn't arrive this skill/class will come from Tarks, Brayden Shaw, Davison, Didak stepping up etc.

Agree with you totally DRoche, we all have to remember that these are the guys that got us to the GF in the first place for the past two years. Sure enough, because we played our worst game for the entire year on GF Day everyone is wanting heads to roll. Patience guys, our time is next year and the year after etc, etc.

To answer the question of other about Grand Final Day, we got beaten by a side that is now regarded as one of the best ever, don’t forget they killed Essendon 3 years ago in the GF and Essendon at that stage where the Premiers and that next year hard hardly lost a game, (great side), Brisbane wont be on top for ever they will like every other team come back to the pack, the draft takes care of that. On Braydon Shaw wasn’t he Captain of Vic Metro? If he was he has to be a good player, if he steps up that’s another thing, but you wouldn’t be captain if you had no skill, don’t judge him by his cousin!! That means crap if they are related; so many brothers sons ECT never make it to the standard set by relatives!

Yes I think we should continue with the youth policy, Stevens is young but idiots on here saying that Tarkyn is no good really annoys me. There is no need for the pies to panic all of a sudden. We got plenty of young up and comming midfielders. As for Brayden I can't comment and I won't be dragged into and arguement that I can't back up because of the fact that I haven't seen him play.

Dido on Tarken and Panic, agree on Brayden havent seen him, but he cant be bad if he is or was captain of Vic Metro. Still might be a couple of years away who knows?

I have been asking since 2001 but our "coaching staff" don't seem to agree with me for some reason God only knows.

I have heard the crap about "nepturing our own ruckman" from Balme but look at the London game. Cloke, Richards and Crow. Not one of them was worth a pinch of poop.

Amazing isn't it someone agrees with me, I have been saying that for yonks now, why chase Stevens when you can get a ruckman even if theire not up for trade you can still try to get them to come to your club!!! Wave the check book and any one will fall to their knees.

Guy Richards is a tap ruckman. I can't believe anyone is making a big deal about the London game, it was an exhibition game by a bunch of footballers on holiday!

We have enough rucking strength to get us through with our midfield. If a ruckman was available we would have gone for him. I don't count Allan, McKernan or Street as these are players that even bottom teams didn't want. If we are going to recruit a ruckman it has to be someone who can earn his place in the top 22.
