Do you like your sections scribe?

I've taken lead from Big Brother's 2007 voting system where you can register your vote of approval or disapproval for each nominee.

Remember, unlike Big Brothers voting system, where you can continue to vote until you run out of pre paid credit or your parents put a bar on 1902 calls and sms numbers you can only vote once on BigFooty polls.

You can select more than one option though

do urselves a favour and read tahl's half page speil on his pepsi incident in the b section write up for this week's games just gone

classic

That's the first time I've read something that he's written. Is he taking the p!ss? Or is he a complete nuff nuff?

Why would he bother to mention something about a C grade game he'd seen and the result from it in the B grade column?

pretty hard to judge volunteers isn't it? It is not as if they are being paid 10000. You will also find that unless someone feels strongly about it they are more likely to vote in teh negative.Criticism is easier than praise. Fraser is the best in my view, though all have their merits.

Rooster1979,

Don't you think it's about time you closed this poll and declared a result?

:D

Frase

I agree, Scribing is a very tough gig.

Good to see most of the scribes have had a good response, and the ones that are struggling are more the first year guys.

I think it takes readers some time to warm to new Scribes.

Fraser Cameron & Jono Horn are clearly the most popular scribes, well done Frase.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to close the poll now?? How do I do it?

Cheers Rooster1979 - much appreciated.

We're this taken a couple of years ago, I'd expect the results to be very different.
That Horn-bag, I don't know how he does it.

After running a major sporting glossy magazine and writing the critically acclaimed Horn on Wednesdays, the A section column is probably 3rd priority every week. Imagine if he had a job totally unrelated to sports writing.

No idea how to close a poll, so I can't help you there, but to borrow a line from the not so Honorable Paul Keating, on 1993 Federal Budget night, these are a "beautiful set of numbers"
;)
PS - Duncan Palmer is clearly my favorite Scribe. I'm tipping a rapid rise through the ranks for this young gun.

Why the different result a couple of years ago Scribe?

Just reckon a couple more seasons of scribing has meant myself, Hornet, The Qwill and Jono Healy are all more confortable in our roles, and probably have developed better rapport with our respective sections' clubs. We get more regular info, which (hopefully) means the clubs/games are more accurately reported.

Basically, I would've expected more negatives when we were less experienced.

FScribe

Yep, busier than a Beruit bricklayer these days, especially with Beijing coming up but A Section is never a chore - well maybe it was a bit last year. And I'm on the computer all day anyway, not darting from court house to court house, so it's a piece of piss.

For what it's worth, my vote's with Luke Mahoney.

Cheers mate,

I don't know about that though. There's not much room in my column to have fun with the extra game to report on- more just the basics though this week is a bit different- might backfire, but all in good fun.

As long as you haven't given Butch free reign to take potshots at his mates you should be right. ;)

Haven't seen the rag this week yet, but did Butch Palmer write Duncan's column?

Pretty sure Butch had to repeat Gr 6 at Canterbury Primary in 1984 due to issues with grammar and spelling? Was all the talk in the playground at lunchtimes.

Perhaps that Carey high school education sorted those issues out nicely. ;)

God forbid he should get a whole column, we wouldn't get the thing printed until 2 weeks after that round of matches! Just a random appearance as a 'spy' - the club involved was amused was but slightly taken aback before it was realised who the mystery contributor was.

Hmmm....DJ Palmer's ratio is now an impressive 14/4, and fast approaching the lead.

Time to close the poll.......NOW

:D

AC Neilsen.

I know this is resurrecting an old thread and all scribes do a great job volunteering their time, but I'd like to give a big thumbs up to Di Langton (I think that's her name) who writes informed and entertaining wraps on D1
