Having endured three hours of depression last night, when I got home I decided to watch a "classic" Essendon match from my collection (instead of studing for my law exams;) :D ).

Anyway the game I watched was the match v Geelong in late 1991.

I was wondering who remembers this game.

It was at Kardinia Park; one of the numerous occassions Ablett kicked a bag against us (8 this time) and Tim Watson kicked the winning goal in the last minute after taking a "specie" in the goal square.

Ahh memories...

i remember it like yesterday, i think i was about ten at the time, standing on a box on the half forward flank, essendons end

wasnt timmy pretty much on one leg at the time?
and we had a bench full of cripples?

Yes, that was the game Walshy.

I was not fortunate enough to be there, I had to listen to the K-Rock "broadcast"- very poor quality.

Yes, Timmy was on one leg, although I don't think taking the mark aided him in this regard.

The bench had been rendered inoperative; those were the days of two interchange players.

Cheers.

Yep, remember it well. Got heckled walking down the main street after the match & the woman at the train station was so pissed off she wouldn't serve me!

Yeah, Tim was pretty much rooted at the end, just in the right place at the right time.
