This is a major issue in my life, as I'm a regular coke drinker. I swear black and blue that the taste of coke goes bad with time!

The problem comes from shops, saving a few buxs, by bulk buying their coke and storing it. Fair enough, but surely Coke Cola pty. ltd. is aware of this????? I am absolutely positive that this is true. I got a mate too pour a glass of some coke that I was complaining about, along with a glass of fresh coke. Without me knowing which glass come from which bottle, I could easily pick the differance! We did this several times, just in case I was fluking it. The problem I have is that it's bloody hard too pick the fresh coke of the shelf. All I can do is use the competitions on the label as an indication.

This really ****es me off, and I feel all alone about it.:(
Surely someone reading this has experianced my problem, or should I just crawl under a rock and hide?(no cheap shots)

Damn! Does that mean that it's too late to drink the coke I bought 3 years ago from Movie World... It has a nice bottle, I've been putting it off... seems like for too long!

Hahahahahahahaha :D
Yeah that coke would be horrible, it woulndn't even taste like slightly off coke. :p I hate too say it , but I will, Pepsi cola would probably taste better than that Coke cola! ;)

Why, when I plead for support, I get nothing but negative comments about drinking coke itself??? I've came to terms and gone through all that bull****, so if ya gunna post, then reply to my concern! uumm, please I meant.

No, I voted the second option. I've tasted strange coke, but never made the link between that and it's age. I'll have to keep an eye out for it next time.

Yeah it does. Approx. 3 months in plastic, 8 months in a can or glass bottle. Diet coke only 3 months.

It has a date code on the cap, not an actual date as such, but the week number of the year.

So in other words you say everything goes off, but you didn't beleive me!:(

At least I was good enough to include that option!

Thanks buddy! excellant response! Great to here about this date thing, I never knew that. So, I can assume that Coka Cola pty. ltd. does know about this phonomenum. Personally I wish coke bottles were still in glass.

Cheers WA!

Coke are their own worst enemy.
They refuse to put a use-by date or best before date on their products so that they do not have to fund markdowns in the supermarkets/shops etc.
I think later in the year it is being forced on them.

Vegemite is like red wine - it matures with age.:) :)
As for Coke, I drink Pepsi Max these days, or sometimes Diet Coke, but I've never encountered Coke going off. But I believe you, I suppose it can happen.

The coke never goes off at home, just flat, It's the months that the coke is stored away in store rooms before getting sold to suckers like me!

How do you know this?????
Where did you find this out????

A good friend of mine is from Georgia - ground zero of Coca-Cola. He insists that Coke tastes differently in various parts of the country. He further insists that it tastes best in Georgia. He's not the first person who has told me that.

I've also heard from several folks that Coke tastes different in other countries. Personally I think it is silly to visit a state or country and spend time drinking their Coke rather than the local beers. Besides, bottlers in other countries license the product and are free to use different sugars, syrup - C water ratios etc.

My point is....

Well, maybe I don't have a point. If you love Coke, and come to the States, visit Georgia. Yup, I think that is my point. Oh, and if you drank it with a shot of Bacardi 101 Rum (as proper) you wouldn't notice if it was skank. That's my point too. Peace,
