His comments are useless sometimes....and can he show his bias anymore??

Bloody hell he is biased is annoying and yes he always states the obvious. Useless special comments. Comments like "O that large hit on lappin was totally unnecessary," when all it was, was a slight bump just as the ball leaves his boot."
He also carried on when Franklin got a free in the 1st quarter even though the other commentators unianimously agreed it would have been a free even under last years rules.

The umpiring has been digraceful.

One in particular seems to be favouring the Blues with these petty, tiggy touchwood free kicks.

That said, our 1 quarter was good but the 2nd quater was very scrappy. Poor disposal,
why is Hodge not in the guts?
too many fricken handballs
Timmy Clarke has gone backwards

Couldnt agree more, forgot sake put Hodge in the middle and keep him there. Clarke has expired as an afl footballer and Dawson doesn't seem to have a clue how to be a defender as far as I can see.

The umpires tonight were a ********ing disgrace. If that is the standard of umpiring we have to look forward to this year - heaven help us.

We can't blame the umpires, carlton were terrible tonight and we were worse. Some good signs up forward though with Boyle and Buddy and crawf was in great form, but apart from that I can't think of too many positives.

Getting back to the thread - I thought walls was woeful - very slanted commentary & always the apologist for every iffy umpiring decision.

And I don't care how slow he speaks!

He does get annoying - but not as annoying as Tim Lane's cheesy obvious remarks. It's as though my dad's doing the commentary sometimes.

Two out of the 3 commentators were Carlton supporters.
You may as well bring back Eddie!

Walls has such a self-important way of talking, but says absolutely nothing that is not obvious, or that we didn't already just see on our TV screens.

And those "his coach would be very happy/unhappy with him" repetitive comments are just so BORING ...

Annoy? He right well gives me the ****es. Last night he couldn't help but show his Carlton colours and as far as his commentary in general goes I think it's fair to say he was a much better footballer. That's one of the reasons why I hoped that 7 & 9 would get tv rights and not 10. I reckon they have the worst commentary team to have ever been put together in AFL tv history. They've got ex footballers with monotone voices and no clue about entertaining an audience and their analytical stuff is so basic that any viewer with an ounce of football knowledge can pick up without being told by these experts and even then they overly repeat themselves. Give me Bruce or Dennis on 7 any day. Give me Drew Morphett or Peter Landy over the 10 ****ers. even. It's a big call but honestly I'd rather listen to Ed crap on about Collingwood, at least he put some passion into his commentary and made fair points about both sides. Not like Roberts call last night saying he wants Carlton to win. What is that? You are there to commentate with no bias, not spectate with your scarf on!
Think I'll switch to triple m or whoever to listen to live games and turn the volume down on the telly when 10 are taking it. PS: Robert if you read this which I'm pretty sure you won't, I'd be surprised if you can, you only needed to bring up the point about us having 4 forwards inside our 50 once or maybe a couple of times not 5 times a quarter. D***head!

Whenever Josh Kennedy touched the ball Walls just about proclaimed him as the second coming of christ

I have never liked him, he sounds uneducated, obnoxious, one sided and just plain dumb! He tries to force his opinion's on other commentators like they should agree with him. The man is a stupid and for someone who has spent so much time around football seems to know nothing about the game! He rants and raves about Carlton like they were last years premiers, and had nothing to say bout the Hawks except that our forwards were "Standing there like statues" every 2 minutes. Shut up Walls, ur an idiot, ur as bad a commentator as Sam Newman, but at least it's fun to hate him, ur just boring, narrow minded and uninsightfull. Channel 10 do urself a favour and sack this man before everyone listens to SEN or Triple M while watching the game with the TV volume turned down, which is exactly what i'll be doing from now on!

He kills me, i hate listening ti him and most of the channel ten comentators. Tripple M rocks.

LMAO! Thats so true. And what the hell has Kennedy done apart from put on weight in the offseason?

What would be funny is if they had Jason Dunstall or Dermott Brereton as his co commentators at the next Carlton v Hawks game. Walls would be sh**** himself ...would be too terrified to speak.

I don't mind Robert Walls but i must admit it felt like i was listening to a commentary team that were bias to Carlton (similar to listening to a radio telecast of an interstate side playing against the Hawks from their home state or Haw vs Gee on K-Rock).

Robert Walls was one sided,he was the same last week when we played Essendon.Another thing, a short time ago he said that he hated the "Play on after rebounding of goal post" rule, because if you kicked a little more off target you would at least get the behind.During Sat night game he said that he loves this rule.Make your mind up.

I think Wallsy believes a contract to call football equates to something like a licence to make up his own reality - he probably doesn't even remember what he said last week.

His sanctimonious wind bagging has long since gotten out of control, it's as though he's made it his life's work to cram self inflation into every syllable that passes through his lips.

A little bit of bias is bearable, but I don’t think bias is Walls’ real problem - he just channels his most annoying traits into it.
