Four-square for me. Always dominated the 'liner' ruck contests because I was the tallest. Wasn't good at much else, the nifty little shits were always dominant.

For the more traditional version, with 4 squares, ours were called King, Queen, Jack, Dunnies. Did everyone else have Dunnies? :p

Yep, late 70s / early 80s in Geelong.

Middle of winter before school, the sleeve of the jumper pulled over your hand playing with a wet tennis ball or one without any fur on it. Before school we generally played 5 and out. We might start with a dozen of us and by the time a few went out you'd be smashing the ball over huge gaps. Almost used to shatter your hand.

Had a few evolutionary changes with this game. We always called it 'Four Square'. I can't remember many of our rules though – probably because they changed every day.

By the time year 11 came around, we were playing against a wall. You'd sometimes have about 40 people all playing. It was always good fun, though. The last incarnation of it was just 'Wall Ball'. The last time I played any type was only about six months ago. I somehow doubt this game will get much of a go at uni...

We still gave foursquare a pretty decent run for a semester at uni.... it was still the shit!
