Let's give this a final run, but the field seem to be quite wide to me as I can see reasons for sliders to land somewhere around here and reasons for bolters to come forward.

I'll try and narrow the poll field a little, by working closer to list needs, but do use the OTHER option and name the player you feel we make take here.

Players that won't get to pick #25: McCluggage McGrath SPS Brodie Taranto Ainsworth Logue Florent Logue English Simpkin Scrimshaw Hayward Berry Venables Marshall (Bowes Setterfield Perryman)
Total of 16 live & 3 Academy players.

MODS: May you please close the original thread on this selection. Thank you.

It's gotta be the physical beast SPP, if he's still there

Going by the list, I would select SPP, but cannot see him being available

My selection is still Brennan Cox.

Given the number of picks we have in this draft, the likelihood is that at least one pick will be on a KPP. At this pick the quality is still strong for talls, come the 3rd round and beyond, the quality diminishes considerably

With adding Palmer, Smedts and Pickett, it strengthens our midfielder on a short, medium and long-term basis.

Even with adding Marchbank, the quality of our KPPs', as a whole is still substandard. Many have Rowe and Casboult in "Best 22" , which is understandable, although there is very little, if any improvement.

The jury is out on Jaksch, Jones and Gorringe, while I believe JGM will make it, he will take time.

Cox would improve our spine whether as a KPF or KPD. In the group of names listed in this poll, he would sit comfortably in "best available/needs" criteria

Other considerations:

Dylan Clarke
Shai Bolton

I don't think SPP, Bolton, Gallucci, or Battle will be there, so my next choice is Atley.

Crossing fingers and toes that Simpkin, Hayward, Marshall, English, Florent or Bolton fall, but not holding my breath.

Wouldn't begrudge us a bid on Macreadie either. ;)

I would be happy with Atley, not really keen on Battle or Gallucci for various reasons

This selection will be flexible, quality is available here, If it's a midfielder then Mutch, dual sided talented to good to pass on at this point, if one rather a tall then I like the look of Brennan Cox and for silky X factor and excitement definitely Bolton .
Theses are my three options all very good, solid 2nd rounders, finally we may be able to land a ripper after so many disappointing attempts over past years.

Go Baggers

So many good choices at 25.

SPP, Cedric Cox or Mutch would be great selections. Still feel a Venables or Berry could fall through.

I am going for Jordan Ridley. Tall, mobile, finds the ball and uses it well. HBF who could easily go into midfield. Main point for me is his composure. All class, just calm and will adapt well to AFL football. One of the most underrated in the draft and exactly what we need.

I'd go these blokes at 25 in the following order...

Cedric Cox, Willem Drew, Joe Atley or Tom Williamson.

Would be quite pleased with the Halls Creek duo of SPS and Cox with our first 2 picks...would be good additions and make for a nice story.

25 is an interested selection . I'm hoping one of SPP, Galluchi,Venables or Bolton slide to this pick . If not, I'm thinking a rebounding defender Cox, Williamson or Cummings. I'm not very keen on Mutch, Clarke, Drew or Atley at this pick as we can get similar talent at Pick 48

A Halls Creek double of SPS and Cox could light up the MCG for years hey RiteBak@Ya

Considering Adelaide just threw away the rights to Jarman does he now come into any contention at 25 or is he a later pick level player?
You only 'throw away the rights' if you don't rate him. Adelaide bat deep in this draft until pick 90. He's a chance not to be drafted at all.

Let's say there were some residual interest from Adelaide - they'd hope to take him as a rookie.

I would be shocked if he lasted to the rookie draft. Hawks would definitely select him with a pick if he was still around.

Forget his stature, the kid is a good footballer

Was thinking if he a smaller forward type, Adelaide having Betts, Cameron wtc meant they had enough for his type of role already but fair enough, never hurts to ask the question.

We'll see. :) This draft is said to be deep, so there may be a few who slip through. The kid was eligible for both clubs, so it's strange neither would match a bid on him with pick 90 (Adelaide) or 91 (Hawthorn). Even if Adelaide has a number of similar players, surely he's worth pick 90 if he's any good.

Maybe it's a Jimmy Stewart situation where another club rates him a lot higher than Adelaide and each party want to save themselves the embarrassment of not matching a bit?

Sounds like we are on the same page then?

I agree with your points, it's why I believe he will be selected in the National Draft, not rookie

I'm saying there are 2 possible scenarios but I'll back your judgement if you think another club will select him before Adelaide's fourth (66). :)

Well maybe they don't want to be the first club to knock back a f/s bid, or maybe he's just not that highly rated.

Never said he will be selected before or after pick 66, all I said is that he will be drafted in the National Draft and won't last to the Rookie Draft

It has been reported that up-to 6 clubs have met with him after the combine. He uses the ball well on both sides of his body, by hand and foot. He rated highly on the clean hands testing, for recruiters, that is a big tick.

Sydney already knocked back Dunkley didn't they?
