Drinking raw eggs with a little bit of sugar, would that have a different effect? Would it be better to drink it without sugar. Why i mention sugar is because to give it a little bit of taste so that it does taste really foul.

Would be good if i got some helpful info. Cheers.
 
not sure why your drinking the egg but if you can't take it like an oyster ( don'tchew just swallow) then little bit of milk & sugar would be good

Seems you're on a real protein / bodybuilding phase.

I'd scrap the eggs per se.


The cheapest I can get Eggs (in Perth) are a crate (30 Eggs) at a farm for $10.

Now thats a lot of seperating the Whites from the Yellows and dumping the Yellows in the sink.

More economical is the Egg Whites allready separated. I get Golden Eggs, its called The Cutting Edge. Its in the frozen section, blue carton, with a cartoon of a body builder in white. 1ltr for $4.80.

That 1ltr contains 36 Egg Whites.


Much, more economical.


Edit: The Whites taste better over time. You will love the taste.

Be careful of drinking raw eggs.

Raw eggs can sometimes harbour Salmonella and the only way to kill the bacteria is by cooking the egg.

However, this problem with the raw eggs is quite rare but if your going to be downing raw eggs i think you should be aware of it.

I read in a mens health magazine last year (which i know is not the most reliable source) but they said that the protein in raw eggs is not absorbed by the body. Your better off boiling them, they taste alot better that way.
 
I drank raw eggs a couple of times and i cant say that i like the taste. However i was told that the body doesnt need that much protein. I dont think that the sugar would hurt, its only bad in excessive quantities so if you talking a teaspoon with your eggs each day its not bad for the body. the sugar wouldnt stop the effects of the protein in the egg on the body.

That is certainly true. In fact there was quite a bad outbreak of salmonella poisoning in Hobart only a week or so back, in which quite a few were hospitalised, relating to raw eggs being in some food from a catering company that catered for two public service Christmas gatherings.

Certainly one to watch out for.

Sop your saying that i should not drink the eggs yolk just the whites? I cant be bothered seperationg all the sort of stuff.

I've hear of the Salmonella, but not sure of its harms. Is it really that harmful?

You only need to not drink the yolks if you have high cholesterol.
Arnie always ate his yolks :)

Whites contain most of the protein

Yolk contains all of the fats and cholestoral. Yes theres a lot of good fats in the yolk, but theres a fair bit of bad fats as well.

P.S. Arnie did say he had one yolk a day, the rest he threw out.

P.P.S. You can buy a egg white seperator, sits on top of the cup and is easy to use (there's a Tupperware one). But why would you bother seperating 6 or so a day, too much time needed and too much wastage. Go get the Whites only in the freezer section. Much cheaper.


Edit: Salmonella, is it bad?

S*** yes. There were a handful of people that died in the outbreak in VIC with the sausage / pizza fiasco, 7 or so years ago. I got it so bad 5 years ago, from eating at a reputable buffet (maybe seafood / maybe salad?) that for a week my whole left side of my body was completely numb. It felt like I had a stroke. Saw the doc, there was nothing he could do except say, "It'll go away over time".
