Hird going deep forward to create a mismatch hasn't worked this year. He did it to Green for a short period last night and it didn't get to him. He hasn't got the pace off the mark he used to have to exploit it. I think the opposition are more than happy for Hird to be out of the midfield.

Why would you take Corey though? He's kicked one goal for the year and doesn't use the ball very well.

He needs an opponent, and Bolts is a good match for height and running ability. He still gets it enough and uses it well enough to rank number 4 on the Champion Data stats for Geelong.
 
Looks like we may not have to worry about Bartel atleast. He was rushed to hospital with some sort of head injury, possible nerve damage and suspected allergic reaction to pain killers. Also Rooke has done his hammy and will miss.

It worked when he was on Bruce. In fact, it provided huge contribution to our 8 goal first quarter.

It didn't work when Green went to him because Bolton followed Green rather than letting Hird compete one out.

Pev ranks number 1 at Essendon and you want him dropped.

Corey isn't dangerous, if Bolts follows Corey, Slattery/McVeigh/Pev handle Ablett, Chapman, Kelly between them, we're going to be pretty damn defensive.

The Champion Data stats tell me he is ranked 7th for average per round, 8th for total points.

He wins the ball at clearances though, we aren't great in that area.

And he plays on the oppositions best midfielder most weeks.

I'd written Pev off at the end of last year, I would have delisted him. But he deserves his place in the side.

I wouldn't tag Joel Corey for the same reason opposition players don't tag Pev. Neither uses the ball well, but they do win hard ball and they do stop a good opponent. They provide an even performance most weeks.

Does he really?

Pevs game is all about finding space these days and it adds nothing to our side. If wehad a half decent midfield then he'd be in the magoos but since we are quite average in the middle then he's gaurenteed a game based on heart and endeavor.

Corey needs an opponent. Bolts does not need to tag him, just play on him. Clearly you don't think Bolts has a creative side to hurt Corey going the other way.;)

Not in the Watson sense, but he often gets it going our way in the scraps. Not always at stoppages but in contests as well.

I agree, he's a one year at a time prospect and he'll eventually be replaced by Hislop or Lonergan.

But at the moment, Pev is doing his job.

And he bloody well deserves it. 10 years of the best he could give. Isn't it time to say well done. 10 years of abuse, get over it. His best has been good enough to be in our best 38-42 players for ten years, and i congratulate him for that.
I didn't see any trip from bolts, all i saw was a great spoil, a desperate scramble for the ball and bruce falling over, Bolts delivering an important handball.

Good point bossco, people seem to forget that, he was offered a year, and if he had accepted it and played liek he has been would have definitely got an extension.

People should remember that this thread is about dropping bolton, the time has come.

'Bolts' and 'creative' are seldom used together.
 
We all hate him and we even barrack for his team. Sheedy should notice and see that boton does NOTHING and some youngster would do way better than him.
He seems to be a player ont he field just hanging there, doing whatever he likes as his opponent, probably the bets player on the opposition runs free.
 
we would never have won if it wasnt for bolton on friday night his effort on friday night against cameron bruce was outstanding and won us the game. I think bolton would be a good mobile player. Keep him so he can play on the likes of Goodes who he can beat Also players like Riccuito,Simon Black,Lance Franklin we have to find someone that can stop these players and if bolts can stop a ual brownlow medallist he must be doing alright...
