He is not on any injury list, and the club has said nothing about the fact he is playing sore.

So we can only work on the assumption that he is fit enough to play...and considering our depth I doubt we'd play him if he was overly sore.

So on that proviso, I say he should NOT be dropped. He adds a lot up forward that no one else on our list provides. His tackling has been great, and he is demanding strong matchups.

If he is fit enough, I'd like to see him get a run on the ball to get him into games.

But i genuinely believe he hurt himself in the St.Kilda match, and probably hasn't got the fitness to move onto the ball just yet. But he is playing a role up forward.

if he is sore, then I'm not against resting him up. But I'm not overly concerned about his form.

The pleasing thing is that although he hasn't been his usual damaging self...he has found other ways to have an influence. That's the sign of a good player.

Also, we have depth...but perhaps not in Leon's position.

Didak and Thomas realistically are forward flankers...whilst Medhurst is a lead up option.

Davis is a genuine crumber in 2010. The only other guys on our list who could perhaps fill his void are Dick, Rounds or Corrie. None are really in line for a game just yet. Perhaps Dick in a few weeks.

5th in Contested Possesions

5th in Tackles

4th in Goals kicked

4th in Marks inside 50

equal 2nd goal assists

yep done nothing all season:rolleyes:

Nice post. I wouldn't have picked that except for the goals kicked. Possesions on their own don't tell the full story.

He's carrying something for sure. Taking that grab on Friday night in the fwd 50 with 15 metres around him, didn't run with it. I know he ran in other passages, but is just not right.

A bit like Medhurst last year, no formalised injury, but is defs injured. Otherwise I've no doubt Mick would have sent him into the midfield as with Didak as part of the rotations.

Out of curiousity, is Corrie a capable forward pocket?

It wouldn't really matter since he's injured at the moment. But he HAS kicked goals.
He is not the next Leon davis though.

And on topic,

Out: Davis, Brown
In: Anthony, Prestigiacomo.

To me he looks as if he is playing a different game to the rest of the team.
Watching him it looks as though he is playing for himself, altough some stats say otherwise. Perhaps he does have a ******ling injury, or as previously stated, he is a bit down on himself and isn't really intrested.

Whatever the issue is, it does need to be addressed. Hope he can hit form soon, he's such an exciting player to watch when he's on.

Interestingly, in the O'Bree article about Fraser, he mentions that Davis is likely to miss 'a week or two'. So he will be given a couple of weeks, which I believe is great, especially with the mid-season break coming up soon after, he should be fresh and raring to go into the second half of the season and finals.

Plenty of people need to think long term, ie what will best position the side for the finals this year.

Davis had lost a bit of zip, whether it is an injury or just down on form, frustrated at being the deep forward pocket etc.

Giving him a rest now will hopefully pay off long term.

Same thing with Presti, we want him fit and in form come finals, not bloody rnd 9 or 10.

Fraser another one in the same boat, we dont need to run him into the ground this year.

Even our younger kids, by playing O'Bree and Lockyer during the season, it can shield some of the load....we want Wellingham, Thomas, Sidey, Beams, Pendles to be peaking coming into the finals not tiring after a long season.

We have the depth, fecking be happy to use it...not bemoan the club for not rushing guys back for HA game.

Agreed. Its not really rocket science, yet people still fail to comprehend these simple facts that you've stated. I've said it all along, we're never going to go through a season 21-1 or 20-2, and I wouldn't want to, I want the wins in September.
